Coulter Coming up On Maher

Posted on 10/07/2005 7:56:06 PM PDT by Dustin Hawkins

For those with HBO (and who can stomach Maher's nauseating spiel), Coulter will be on with Andrew Sullivan, and... Ben Affleck! Ahem. Anyway...

Loos like your admiration for Buchanan is clouding your judgement. Here is one example of his holocaust denial. I'll let you search the others for yourself.

Who is the idiotic liar now? Shape up or ship out!!

Writing of "group fantasies of martyrdom," Buchanan challenged the historical record that thousands of Jews were gassed to death by diesel exhaust at Treblinka: "Diesel engines do not emit enough carbon monoxide to kill anybody." (New Republic, 10/22/90)

Actually, I feel sorry for you. So, here is another article from FrontPage Mag (I'm sure even you'll agree tht FPM is no liberal rag):

Buchanan wrote a real charming book before The Death of the West. In A Republic, Not An Empire, he denied that Adolf Hitler had any malicious intentions toward the West, let alone toward the Jews living there. He also argued that Hitler was forced into pursuing the Final Solution because of British and American intervention in the war. Buchanan’s implication, in other words, was that Hitler wasn’t really responsible for what he did.

Buchanan has described Hitler as a "genius" and "an individual of great courage, a soldier's soldier in the Great War."

What feelings or beliefs would motivate a person to make such a tribute to Hitler?

Buchanan’s words have always implied that, if Hitler had only entertained designs on Eastern European Jews for his Final Solution, and that as long as this did not affect American interests, then America had no obligation to intervene on purely humane grounds. That’s what Buchanan’s "America First" policy is all about.

I can’t help from wondering: what exactly is Buchanan saying about the Holocaust?...

Buchanan has also shown an obsessive predilection for defending accused Nazi war criminals, every one of whom somehow appear to be innocent in his eye....

You're quoting a hit piece by another idiot. Show me where Pat has ever said there was no Holocaust. There aren't people dumb enough to make such a statement.

Pundits, the good ones always double check their facts, and Pat is exceptionally good.

One could say the same with regard to people on the right; but, then hypocrisy mustn't be discussed, right. The devil you know is still the devil.

"One could say the same with regard to people on the right"

Since you didn't quote the note to which you are replying, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Perhaps the reason that it was not self-evident is that it is a complete non-sequitur.

One could not "say the same with regard to people on the right." Over the decades, the left has developed almost a complete monopoly on scumbags.

The evil and wrongheaded simpletons just naturally gravitate to the left.

LOL. Miers as the scholarly devil, the "Church Lady" to the left.

It's hilarious, considering most of them have marketed their wares on such topics as Ten Commandments, culture of death (that one still makes me wince), God.

They wanted a "fight" because it's good for business.

scumbags gather wherever opportunity presents itself for abuse, power and profit. That is not the exclusive domain of the DNC or even of the RNC. The left does not have a corner on nuts, ivory tower snobs, greedy immoral bastards or any other kind of wretch. They're as entrenched in republican circles as in Dim circles. And they are no less rabid or vocal. They just seem to think that because the enemy is so nuts they get a free pass because of the label on their lapel.

Tis so. And things like the WTO vote bear it up. We all know what the process is for defining a new branch of government that would constitutionally over-rule or place a check upon an existing branch - it requires ammending the constitution. But, Both republicans and Dems involved themselves in trying to back door that process in making the Supreme Court of the US answerable to the WTO and with no appeal to WTO ruling. The WTO was not a democrat plot anymore than countless other examples that abound. So, it is factually correct. It isn't evil that you don't like as a party, it's the other guy's brand of it that get's you out of joint. Your own brand you think should be quite tolerated and allowed to do as it will. And neither of you have understood the basic constitutional tenet that your rights ends where the rights of another begin. You'll trample the next guy for a dollar just as fast as the dems will; but, because you pontificate on different concepts than them, we're supposed to see them as evil and you as "enlightened". Where were the enlightened while a judge was being intellectually and verbally martyred over the ten commandments. Where were the "enlightened" on any number of counts. It isn't your rhetoric that defines you - its your actions.
