The "Go-Go White Sox" reached the World Series in 1959. Go back further, to 1917, for the last South Side champs.

There's still a baseball club on the south side? I didn't even realize...
Can't recognize a ball team because you don't have one on your side of town, bow down to Sam-me, choke and cry, choke and cry loser:
Chicago White Sox are the CHAMPIONS of Chicago

Al was there at the game, sittin' in the rain. They showed him on camera around the 8th inning, and McCarver saluted him.
I hope a whole bunch of those '59 guys will be around the Series, like Minnie Minoso, Aparicio, etc. I know Nellie Fox has passed on... whatever happened to Billy Pierce?

For someone who missed the game and somehow missed the controversy, what's the significance of the catch or non-catch?

Will Cubs fans cross over? Or are they to die hard.

I might just go to one of the games back home in Chicago, and here in Houston if Houston wins.. They better have a mountain of Beef Sandwiches, Kosher Hot Dogs, Deep Dish Pizzas, and Italian Lemonade when I get up there!!!.. Yummmm :)

I regret that Sherm Lollar, Early Wynn and Nellie Fox are not around to see this. Fortunately, Billy Pierce and Jim Landis are still alive and they get interviewed once in a while.

It's fodder for the sports talking-head shows, and a whining point for the sore losers.

4 complete games and an 8 1/3 inning performance. Total domination in all parts of the game. Swept the defending world champs in 3 games. One blown call and you want to say that?
You are a moron.

Congratulations to the AL champions, the Chicago White Sox.
But alas, even after this success the majority of the city of Chicago still want to embrace the Cubs.

I think some people expect a team to argue with an Ump to take a call away from them if they think they didn't earn it. Sort of like a football player who gets away with a hold asking an Official to call him on it after the fact. That happens every.....never.
It was a smart play by A.J. Josh Paul should have known better, the umpire is always right

My Dad was in mourning when the Dodgers left Brooklyn. If you are a fan, it's a game. If you are the owner, it's a business. When the Dodgers arrived in LA, I was 10. The greatest moment of my life (at that time). So, Your Dad's loss was a young boy's gain. And Mr. O'Malley got richer. Ya' gotta' love America!
