A Balkans bump from a very happy Balkanite.

Congratulations to the Sox from a die-hard Angels fan.

In the World Series, one piece of advice -- tell Al Smith not to stand too close to the right field fence this time ;-)

The Angels just lost their heart after the Eddings incident, but the ChiSox got historically excellent pitching.

Still, I'm rooting for Roy Oswalt and the Astros.

Are you sure you saw Al Lopez? The guy I saw when they were talking about Lopez was Rollie Hemond, former GM for the Sox.

Ah, you're right, sorry about that. I looked over at the TV while McCarver was talking about Lopez and I thought the old guy was him. Oops.

Are you sure about Gary Peters? He was the American League Roookie of the Year in 1963.

Yes, he just had a "cuppa coffee" with the Sox in '59 (as well as in the next three seasons) before staying for good in '63.

I always associate Gary Peters with Joel Horlen on that good pitching staff of the mid-'60s. Juan Pizarro, Tommy John, John Buzhardt, Bob Locker, et al. That '67 club came very, very close.

Also, when I think of those Sox teams of the mid-'60s, I picture Pete Ward stepping out of the batter's box, blowing on his hands to keep them warm. . . .

Let's see, who else? Don Buford, Tommie Agee, Al Weis, Ken Berry, Bobby Knoop, Buddy Bradford. . . .

Tommy McCraw, Floyd Robinson. . . .

As an Angels fan I am naturally disappointed that they lost to the White Sox. However my team did not have their best stuff and had they played better, the bad calls by the umpires would not have mattered.

So, its on to next season. I'll be going to Edison Field and supporting my Angels as usual.

In the meantime, good luck to the White Sox - GO AMERICAN LEAGUE!

Left field, but you make a good point. :^)

I disagree, its the media here that pushes the Cubs, very similar to the way the M.S.M. embrace democrats. We are the silent majority on the Southside.

I'd like the Sox more if they hadn't torn down Comiskey and broken their promises to rebuild McCuddy's.

It's a stuffed animal monkey that the Angel Fans pull out when they need a rally, it started in 2002 when they won the WS, and the jumbotron shows a real monkey, all the fans hold up their stuffed monkeys.

Kinda lost its novelty.

Thank you very much. It was driving me nuts watching the Angels wave their monkeys around.

True, nobody I know wanted to see old Comiskey torn down. And what replaced it was cold, reminded me of those old ballmalls Busch, Three Rivers, Riverfront... New Comiskey was built right before the retro look stadiums. There really isn't a whole lot to do after the game, I think they wanted it that way.

We're over the loss, thank you. The bad calls just made it a bit easier to accept. We'll see you next year.

when did the White Sox cheat?

It appears to me that they took what the umpires gave them in the one game and then in the other the pitcher never tagged their catcher....

I think the White Sox are going to win the series. still, if Houston wins the NL there will be a great World Series. Think of the pitching matchup! I wont miss a single game. You going to watch?

Yup, I've seen every game of the ALCS and NLCS so far (although there were a couple I wasn't watching "closely"). I also hope to see Astros vs White Sox in the World Series... wow! I agree the White Sox will probably win it all. Besides their awesome pitching, they appear to be the best all-around team.
