Four Fox network programs, led by the comedies "The War at Home," "The Family Guy" and "American Dad," topped a parents group's annual listing of the worst prime-time shows for family viewing.

The Parents Television Council rated two aspirational reality shows, ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and NBC's new "Three Wishes," as the best programs for family viewing.

The group's president, L. Brent Bozell, said he was alarmed that the three Fox Sunday night comedies are being marketed as family friendly.

"Families should not be deceived," he said. "The top three worst shows all contain crude and raunchy dialogue with sex-themed jokes and foul language. Even worse is the fact that Hollywood is peddling its filth to families with cartoons."

Bozell said the group couldn't even come up with 10 prime-time shows it would recommend for family viewing. Its list stops at nine.

Ha ha. Wait a minute, That is more sad than funny.

I'm glad I'm an adult. If I had children, they probably wouldn't be allowed to watch half of what I watch.

This guy needs to get with the times. Just because something is animated doesn't mean it's for kids. "Family Guy" is aimed squarely at adults.

Throw in the chicken Peter fought over the coupon misunderstanding, and you have a great three-way match.

NOBODY rags on Family Guy & gets away with it! Granted, it's not for kids, but it's hysterical. Giggity-giggity-giggity.

Quit your friggin' whining and change the damned channel. No, better yet sell your tv and turn your cable off. There is nothing wrong with those shows. "Family Guy" is especially funny. My jury is still out on "The War at Home" and "American Dad"...well if we can't laugh at ourselves, we might as well pack it in now.

This is the busybody crap that makes conservatism look bad. Folks we are never going back to the 50's, give it up.

I mainly watch the SciFi channel (only on Friday nights), the History channel, Animal Planet occassionally, Discovery Channel when they aren't being too lefty, and that's about it.

Let's see any show that is absolutely freaking hilarious is unsuitable for family viewing. And any show that is boring, over dramatized and not interesting is good for family viewing.

The bottomline? Wholesome family fare sucks.

I was just about to post that point. It's up there with Jerry Farwell claiming that the film 'Bad Santa' was intended for kids because it was about Santa.

You can look at this two ways: 1) This list represents the shows your kids should not be watching. and 2) This list represents the best shows on TV.

You would have to be functionally retarded to let your kids watch those shows, so I don't see what the point of making a list is.

On the other hand, when I saw the "South Park" movie there were parents who had brought their kids. I guess they just need to blame someone for their bad parenting.

Oh, BS.

They are just giving parents a heads up on the crap that's out there masquerading as entertainment. Nobody is proposing any censorship.
