CBS REPORTER TO WHITE HOUSE: ALITO 'SLOPPY SECONDS?' Mon Oct 31 2005 11:26:56 ET

CBSNEWS Chief White House correspondent John Roberts described the President’s selection of Judge Samuel Alito as “sloppy seconds” during today’s press gaggle with White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.

John Roberts: “So, Scott, you said that -- or the President said, repeatedly, that Harriet Miers was the best person for the job. So does that mean that Alito is sloppy seconds, or what?”

Scott McClellan: “Not at all, John.”

Sloppy seconds” is described in the United Kingdom’s A Dictionary of Slang as:

Noun: “A subsequent indulgence in an activity by a second person involving an exchange of bodily fluids. This may involve the sharing of drink, or more often it applies to a sexual nature. E.g. ‘I’m not having sloppy seconds, I want to shag her first.’”

Why did McClellan honor the question with an answer? Augh.

This confirms it. The MSM just...don't...get it.
Harriet Miers' nomination was never intended to be put to a vote.
They've been had by GWB and they don't even know it.

President Bush never should have called Harriet Miers the best person for the job. Still, this comment, although well-deserved, is crude and degrades the White House and the Presidency.

Good point. McClellan needs to be moved off the front lines. He does not have the quick thinking needed to slam the wolves when needed. He could have said something like, "Wrong White House, John." Or "To the back of the bus, John."

Analysis: Janet Reno -- the Cornerstone of the Clinton Cover-ups

Newsmax.com
Christopher Ruddy June 14, 1999

First, Bill Clinton nominated Zoe Baird, a well-regarded attorney, for the post. She seemed to be sailing through the process, when damaging information from her FBI file was leaked that disclosed Baird had hired a housekeeper and had not paid social security taxes.

Baird withdrew, and Clinton nominated New Your Judge Kimba Wood. Again FBI file details were leaked to the press, and Wood too had not paid social security taxes for her domestic help. She also withdrew.

The Clinton administration, renown for putting positive spin on damaging information, made no effort to condemn the inappropriate leaks from Baird's and Wood's FBI files. "Baird and Wood were pawns to be sacrificed," my confidential source said.

However, with these nominees thrown overboard, the famed Clinton spin team went into overdrive with the nomination of Janet Reno. It was suggested that she was a tough, Eliot Ness-like prosecutor. After two failed nominations and with the standoff with the David Koresh cult in Waco, Texas escalating into a hot crisis, the White House press machine urged an immediate confirmation for the vacant Attorney General post.

Incredibly, the Clintons pulled it off, getting Janet Reno to head the Justice Department of the United States with virtually no vetting by the FBI, Congress, or the press.

Their control of Justice became complete when Web Hubbell, described as the president's best friend and an intimate of Hillary's from the Rose Law Firm, was named as Associate Attorney General…………….”

John Roberts: “So, Scott, you said that -- or the President said, repeatedly, that Harriet Miers was the best person for the job. So does that mean that Alito is sloppy seconds, or what?”

A person's natural tendency is to travel terrain on which he is most familiar. I guess this reflects the typical conversation of members of the White House press corps in unguarded moments.

"McClellan should have ejected the man instantly and then revoked his WH press pass."

Be careful not to prematurely eject him. ;)

Alito is a blood traitor. He's an eastern elitist. The USA does not end at the Appalachian mountains. Princeton? Yale? Schumer (D-NY) and Kennedy (D-IRA) thought him "highly qualified" on his last confirmation.

Post a picture of him under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. Post a picture of him butchering hogs in Chicago. Post a picture of him with the front range of the Rockies in the background. Post a picture of him with the Golden Gate behind. Post a picture of him in Hawaii or Alaska.

Phooey!

I went to the CBS website, drilled down to CBS News and hit the
"Contact Us" button. I sent them a message demanding that Roberts be fired, repudiated and CBS issue a public appology to the country and the Administration...like any of that is gonna happen!

If CBS had any class they'd apologize to Miers, Alito, President Bush, McClellan, and fire that disgusting, vulgar SOB.

before on CNN Wolf Blitzer had a conservative and lib lawyer talking about the nomination...both were women.

The lib lawyer went on and on about what a terrible nomination it was, b.s, b.s, b.s,

The conservative brought out his record..

Blitzer then has the gall to ask the lady, "aren't you a bit dissapointed a women was not nominated?""

The conservative lawyer responded, "the President has a right to nominate anyone he wants...."

I was DYING for her to say, "the President did nominate a woman Blitz, her name was Harriett Miers, yet in the media's frenzy to defame someone's character she withdrew..."
