Paris Riots spread throughout north-east (7th Night of Violence and Burning)

Paris riots spread throughout north-east Posted at 8:20pm on 3 Nov 2005

Violence broke out in impoverished Paris suburbs for the seventh straight night, with rioters clashing with police and leaving a trail of torched cars and vandalised buildings.

Observers are pointing to France's failure to address deep problems of poverty and immigration, including tensions with its Muslim minority.

In Aulnay-sous-Bois in the worst-affected area of Seine-Saint-Denis, a police station was briefly besieged by gangs of youths while a gymnasium and a garage were set ablaze and a commercial centre vandalised.

A total of 40 vehicles, including two buses, were torched before midnight in nine towns in the Seine-Saint-Denis area, a high-unemployment largely-immigrant region. Police made 15 arrests.

Two primary schools were also damaged in the area northeast of the French capital.

The riots started last Thursday following the accidental electrocution of two youths, aged 15 and 17, who had scaled an electrical relay station's walls to escape a police identity check in Clichy-sous-Bois.

The firing of a police tear gas grenade against a mosque in Clichy-sous-Bois during clashes on Sunday also sparked rage in the suburb's large Muslim community.

Perhaps the French need to withdraw from . . . France?

This is an intifada in Paris.

Divide Paris and create an Islamic state in France. Give the mooselimbs a lot of money and the responsibility for their own security. Convene the General Assembly and censure France.

The French have known for a while now that the subs. are a fertile recruiting ground,

We should realize this is happening right here in America, in our own poor neighborhoods, in prisons and jails...the recruiting is happening.

I guess the answer to Adolph's question is, after 60 some years, Yes.

Last night, I asked my wife if she had heard anything about the Muzzie Riots in the French sub'urbs, of course she had NOT.

When there IS news fit to print, you can be sure the LSM will not report it.

The whackjobs are becoming more "out there" and hardened in their unsupportable beliefs. You can't even discuss issues with them anymore...they don't want to hear it.

Actually, I have a bad feeling about this for Friday. Just as you are reading those blogs, so are others. This is going to be a long weekend.

I hope that Maine is watching closely and considering its gigantic Somali population.

I think they should go to the UN. Have a resolution passed against the rioters. Call for cooperation "or else". That should stop all of this chaos.

I don't think it's very bad at all. Heck, Europe has seen riots worse than this at soccer games.

Will the Breton’s be next? They were badly oppressed at one time by the French. If a minority wishes for change, all they have to do is burn a few cars and buildings, toss some rocks…

Mass deportations? Would that give them political refugee status and legal entry to the USA?

The French Foreign Legion is now headquartered up in Alsace. They could be in Paris in an afternoon.
