Fight the Anti-War/Anti-Troop Activists - FREEP (Northern California)

FROM: Melanie Morgan – Move America Forward

SUBJECT: Major Drill on Tuesday – November 22nd

Friends,

I’ve been telling you about the national effort to get City Councils to come out against Operation Iraqi Freedom and demand an immediate withdrawal of our troops.

We’ve now documented the websites that have organized these efforts and suggested the tactics to bully Councils to take action and provided the boilerplate language to anti-war groups around the nation.

See the far-Left anti-military propaganda and organizing strategies for yourself here: http://citiesforprogress.org

*** WE FIGHT BACK ON TUESDAY ***

On Tuesday evening, November 22, 2005 military families will confront the Sacramento City Council – and demand that the Council RESCIND their recent resolution condemning the mission our troops are serving on.

Since the TV stations broadcast live at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM we will need as many people with American flags and pro-troop signs in front of the City Council Chambers starting at 4:45 PM.

You will need to go to: 915 I Street in Downtown Sacramento

MAP OF LOCATION HERE: CLICK HERE for MAP

Then the City Council meeting begins at 7:00 PM and we need to have a huge crowd present. If you support our troops we need you there – 915 I Street (City Council Chambers are on the 1st floor and the entire public is allowed to attend and watch).

We need to rally as many military families, and/or veterans, and/or current members of the Armed Forces (whether Active Duty or Reserves) to be there. So please, help us by taking the initiative to contact anyone you know who is within 200 miles of Sacramento and is either a military family member, a veteran, or someone who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The TV cameras, print photographers, reporters and radio journalists will all be there, and we need a large crowd in front of the City Council Chambers for the 5:00 and 6:00 PM newscasts (when the reporters will be broadcasting live out on the sidewalks) and for the actual meeting itself which takes place at 7:00 PM.

If we are successful in getting the Council to back off of their harmful anti-troop resolution we will have made national news and sent a strong message that those who support our troops’ mission in Iraq and Afghanistan are now fighting back.

Can you think of a better Thanksgiving Day present to our troops in Iraq than to tell them that we are turning the tide here in the U.S. against the anti-military fanatics who have done nothing but criticize, protest and tried to undermine support for our troops in Iraq?

They deserve a win, and I know if we can get enough people to turn out, that the City Council will want to save face and back off – lest they be seen as thwarting the will of military families and veterans who can speak from first hand experience on the importance of our troops’ mission in Iraq.

Please – PASS THE WORD ON – we need a major turnout on Tuesday!

Sincerely,

Melanie Morgan
Chairman, Move America Forward

To get a feel for what Tuesday evening will be like (before the City Council Meeting outside, with the cameras and pro-troop supporters)... here's a picture from a recent patriotic Move America Forward event that was done in conjunction with Mark Williams of KFBK 1530 AM:

Being against the Iraq war is one thing.

Trying to forcefully block recruitment of troops (when many young people WANT to be in the military) should be constitutionally prohibited.

Who is funding these campaigns, Marxist organizations?

Wouldnt be suprised if some dubious "charitable" organizations backed by enemy foreign governments are doing the sponsoring.

It's the George Soros/MoveOn.org crowd.

These people genuinely feel in their hearts that we (the United States and our allies in the West) are more often than not the intolerant agressors who have our own limited view of the world.

Since we do not appreciate the great customs, traditions and values of other cultures - such as radical Islam - we therefore trample all over the poor, humble, peasant-like folks with our giant stormtrooper military-industrial-complex boots.

They therefore feel it is their duty to stand up and do all they can to reign in the abuses of the U.S. government and its people.

I of course think all the above is horse manure... but this is what these people honestly believe. It's the same mentality that led the same far Left crowd to champion Communism - even through the use of force and violence. What's sad is that being passive and mute for the past 2 years we've allowed these people (with their accomplices in the media) to frame the debate about the war against terrorism. It's long past time to fight back with our own Public Relations efforts!

Considering the recent vote in the US House, I'd say that the Sacto City council really has egg on it's face - bigtime.

This is from the Washington Times this morning about how the stupid left is undermining the morale of our troops, not to mention emboldening the terrorists to keep fighting in the hope that American resolve will end:

"Pentagon officials say they are increasingly worried that Washington's political fight over the Iraq war will dampen what has been high morale among troops fighting a tenacious and deadly enemy.
Commanders are telling Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld that ground troops do not understand the generally negative press that their missions receive, despite what they consider significant achievements in rebuilding Iraq and instilling democracy.
The commanders also worry about the public's declining support for the mission and what may be a growing movement inside the Democratic Party to advocate troop withdrawal from Iraq."

I think it says it all about why we need to stand up for our military men and women and point out the folly of fool-hearty people like the Sacramento City Council members.

Yes, thank you for saying that! We added the 403-3 vote into the text of the alternative resolution we are presenting to the Council and requesting them to pass (which rescinds the previous resolution citing the fact that it caused harm to our military personnel and their families).

How long would it take for these anti-war types to get the message if the federal government were to cut off all of their funding?

Especially the perverts of San Francisco.

A modest proposal: wall off all cities that are a part of this stupidity and let the military use them for MOUT training and "willie pete" practice.

I cannot urge more passionately, that everyone refer to and read General Geo. Washington's NEWBERG SPEECH which he gave after having learned that his Command Officers were secretly meeting to consider abandoning their Commands, having learned, incredibly, of the citizenry for whom they were fighting and for whom they and their men were mightily suffering,in their Battle for Freedom, made known that said citizens were increasingly withdrawing their support from the troops and their MISSION. Washington's surprising attendance at their meeting and having gotten their permission to address them, did so in a profound, impassioned, soulful, and ever-memorable and historic speech. It so inspired his officers that they cheered and swore their loyalty to the cause of the Fight for Independence in which they ultimately prevailed and VICTORIOUSLY. READ IT. Someone may want to READ IT TO THE SACRAMENTO AND ANY OTHER similarly misguided 'faux patriot'City Councils!
