TRY AGAIN, MR. PRESIDENT -- THOSE WERE EMPTY WORDS [The Presidnet's Amnesty Program]
Neal Boortz ^ | Nov. 29, 2005 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 11/29/2005 5:25:04 AM PST by conservativecorner

Yesterday, George W. Bush strode to a podium in Tucson, Arizona (I love Tucson!) and against a backdrop of law enforcement officers, announced his latest plan to crack down on illegal aliens. There was nothing in his speech we haven't heard before, and his new immigration policy is just as contradictory as the old one. Among the initiatives announced:

We should build more jail cells to hold illegal aliens. Good idea. The speeding up of deportations, a crackdown on fraudulent identity papers, and a hardening of the border with more surveillance. So far, so good. Then the nonsense started to flow. The president urged Congress to pass his guest-worker amnesty program and repeated the nonsense that the illegal aliens are here "to fill jobs that Americans will not do."

Same old, same old. It is impossible to stand there and say you're going to crack down on illegal immigration while at the same time say that you are going to reward people who broke our immigration laws. The president says it's not amnesty. Ok, now we've finally caught the president in a lie. OF COURSE it's amnesty! When you tell someone who has broken the law that you are not only going to ignore their illegal conduct, but you are actually going to reward them for it, then you have more than plain old garden variety amnesty, you have amnesty with perks!

As for the oft-repeated line that the illegal aliens fill jobs Americans won't, that's also a load. Companies may not be able to fill those jobs with Americans at the same low wages they pay Mexicans, but there are plenty of people in this country that would do the work at the right price. OK .. so the price of headless chickens, landscaping and construction might go up, but at least the people receiving those paychecks would be law-abiding residents of this country, most of whom would be citizens. There is something wrong with the idea of celebrating lower home prices when those lower prices are brought with disrespect for the laws of our country. It gets worse than that. We are threatening our very security by singing the praises of illegal aliens in our workforce. Just two weeks ago we were interviewing a Texas congressman who was telling us that U.S. intelligence agencies have knowledge that Al Qaeda terrorists have moved to Mexico, adopted Hispanic identities, learned the Spanish language, and then moved right into the United States across our porous borders.

George Bush failed to address the problem appropriately yesterday, but this isn't strictly a George Bush issue. There is absolutely no willingness on the part of either political party to crack down on illegal immigration. There are simply too many votes to be had in the Hispanic community. So as a result, our security as a nation is threatened and our cities and states are overrun with illegal aliens.

I'm sure representatives of Al-Qaeda are preparing to apply for their guest-worker permits as we speak.

You can research this fact for yourself, but here's one example:

How French Has Influenced English

The English language has been shaped by a number of other languages over the centuries, and many English speakers know that Latin and German were two of the most important. What many people don't realize is how much the French language has influenced English.

Without going into too much detail, I want to give a little bit of background about the other languages which shaped English. It was born out of the dialects of three German tribes (Angles, Jutes, and Saxons) who settled in Britain in about 450 A.D. This group of dialects forms what linguists refer to as Anglo-Saxon, and at some point this language developed into what we know as Old English. This Germanic base was influenced in varying degrees by Celtic, Latin, and Scandinavian (Old Norse) - the languages spoken by invading armies.

And here's another more scholarly text on the subject, with references listed for further research. In any event, it is quite clear that neither Mexico, Spain, nor the Spanish language have had little to no effect on modern English, other than some new words and/or slang.

THE INFLUENCE OF FRENCH ON ENGLISH IN THE EARLY MODERN PERIOD

BACKGROUND

For a greater portion of the Middle English period (M.E.) French (Fr.) was the governing vernacular of England. It was the language of the ruling elite, many of which spoke little if any English, the language of the court, and the language in which polite literature was written. Hence, studies using the Oxford English Dictionary revealing that Fr. was the primary source of loans outnumbering Latin, the second largest source, four to one should hardly surprise us. As Baugh points out “where two languages exist side by side for a long time and the relations of the people speaking them are as intimate as they were in England, a considerable transference of words” is “inevitable.”

Your post should open some eyes to the high price we're paying to accommodate illegal immigration.

Those denying these facts are somehow profiting from this invasion.

No fair using facts, the President & his co-conspirators wants to treat us like mushrooms, keep us in the dark and feed us BS....

But they require us to keep sending them tax money to pay for these benefits for these poor people doing the jobs Americans wont do...taxation without representation rings a bell to me...

You are a little off with the blame.

I 'do' blame Bush for not being more open as to what is going on. It is absolutely unfair to keep us in the dark with information but expect us to be vigilent in helping with the war on terror.

Info on the conpirators can be found in these links. The real criminals of facilitating the illegal aliens migration can be found in the ones that profit from the travel and tourism industry.

Of course than you have the gateway communities that profit from grant services, businesses that get cheap labor, the list goes on.

I believe there is another reason why he wants Amnesty for these lawbreakers....wish I could figure out his real angle.

Many people have a hard time seeing 'the angle' because it is very difficult to imagine a politician committed to following the law, removing corruption, and improving the United States of America and keeping it the Leader in Equality, Freedom, and Free Trade.

They know that Rules don't mean anything, only power and wealth.

They know that the politicians they support are guilty of every sin imaginable.

They themselves rationalize every lie they tell, and see the end goal as wealth and power that allows one to ignore the law.

They can't imagine anyone resolving their issues any other way.

I will tell you his angle.

He wants to put terrorists where they will never harm anyone again.

He wants ALL MEN who would stand up and work for the food on their family table, rather than take handouts from the government kitty, to have that ability. Instead of being in jail or dead attempting to escape poverty and corruption, while their children are then abandoned to the streets and used to perpetuate the corruption and filth.

This nation became GREAT by taking in the GREATNESS of MANKIND.

Our FOUNDING FATHERS were FRENCH, or RUSSIAN, or INDIAN, or IRISH, or BRITISH, or DANISH, or AFRICAN, or..... So were those who flock to these shores for the promise of a chance to OPENLY COMPETE FOR THE BEST OF LIFE.

Many want the BORDER CLOSED. And RIGHT NOW.

They show their ignorance. They show less involvement in gaining the actual truth than those illegals they want to keep out.

It is a fact that we have quite a cross-border employment contingent.

Many Americans have business in Canada. Many Canadians have business in America.

If you CLOSE the borders, you have a serious financial collapse from various sectors of the involved countries.

But, no one seems to have a problem with Canadians taking the high paying executive jobs in the northern US. Just the $2.00/hour jobs along the TEXICANO wasteland.

The men that come across the border and work for contractors (against the law, only because the contractor WHO USUALLY IS AMERICAN, saves money by paying under the table) have to get to the hiring depot and take their chances. They are very orderly and behaved about the process, and show much more civility than AMERICAN women at KMART on the day after THANKSGIVING.

They have the same goals as you and I.

They want to feed their families, and they want to be free some day.

Many Americans had ancestors, long ago, or even recently, who had and pursued those same goals.

President Bush has an angle.

He is President. He want the moral, the legal, the Christian, the AMERICAN thing to be done when it comes to border crossers. Those with harmful intent will face justice.

Those trying to provide will be recognized and given the chance.

If you 'closed' the borders, you might keep all 'illegal or undocumented" migrants out.

You might keep all those trying to live in the USA without naturalization out.

They would give up eventually, but the terrorists would not.

WE DON"T WANT TO KEEP EVERYONE OUT. JUST THE BAD GUYS.

What you don't know is that we have a 99.9% success ration SO FAR on keeping bad guys out , or their supplies out, since 9/11.

Were the actual arrests, and materials captured from those who tried made known, you would be shocked at the AMOUNT.

President Bush made a deal to not pursue some of the DEM ISSUES in trade for getting the CIA back under control. It was renamed in his honor and he picked a new head to start routing the corruption. It is not done, there are still snakes in the woodpile. Very dangerous snakes with LICENSES TO KILL/NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

President Bush is routing corruption in government at all levels, by setting an example of conviction and insistence on following the law and the rules of this great nation.

Is he a hero? NO.

He is just a man who believed what he was taught about God, the law, about civility, about chivalry and courtesy, about refusing to back down from principal and protection of the innocent.

He is a man who refuses to trash his conscious and soul for the golden ring.

It is what used to be called, "JUST DOING YOUR JOB RIGHT."

It is little wonder so few understand and accept how and what he is doing.

"Hardened borders" and that a majority of Mexicans believe it's their right to come into America (illegally?).

What about Canadians?

If you want to go to Canada for a fishing trip, do you feel you have the right?

oh puhleeze spare me; the President has violated his oath to the Constitution where he swore to protect American citizens. The Constitution makes clear this would be both foreign and domestic.....and we have been invaded by illegal aliens.

As far as I'm concerned, George Bush just fired every blue-collar worker in America. "Gee, we don't want to encourage illegal immigration, and double golly gee, we do want to protect our borders, but if you can get here we'll give you a three year visa and all the other bennies!"

America is about to become a third-world ghetto. Real citizens not only won't, but can't afford to work at the slave-labor prices that employers can get for illegal Mexicans, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc. It's a race to the bottom, you see; the blue-collars can either work their asses off for pennies or not work at all and starve. Cui bono? Who benefits? Employers, that's who.

It's disgusting how transparent the whole thing was. Bush crowed about larger detention centers that (now that everyone essentially has amnesty) will never be needed. How stupid does he think we are?!?!?!

But it's ok, we proles will have our revenge in the end. Pretty soon, no one will be able to afford all of the pretty gadgets (Xboxes, iPods, cars, computers) that employers are now hiring illegal aliens and cheap overseas labor to make, because regular people won't make enough money at their jobs to buy them. How will they make a profit then? They'll be joining us in the breadline soon enough, but not before their short-sightedness has ruined us all.

I would think that most if not nearly all Americans want control of our border.

Bush has failed in many many areas, and this is one of the worst ones.

All illegal aliens within the boarder need to hunted down and deported.

All employers of illegal aliens need to be either fined severely, or shut down.

The entire southern border needs a barrier, as well as 5-10 times more border agents.

All people entering this country must do so through authorized check points, and only after having applied for legal entry.

All those who enter legally that extend beyond the time permitted, must be apprehended, all properties seized, DNA tested, photographed and finger printed and immediately deported.

BUSH IS A TOTAL FAILURE ON THE BORDER...

Good Question. I don't think I would call them or consider them trolls. Trolls contemplate lying to gain power. These folks seem to have weak convictions, and are just easily swayed by loud voices, scared by the wind rustling through the trees.

The MANPOWER currently on ALL BORDERS (oh yeah, MEXICO is not the only BORDER area for the US. All COASTLINES are border areas, as well as the northern border to Canada) is the HIGHEST EVER.

There have been NO TERRORISTS with MATERIALS to be used to destroy US CITIZENS that have gotten across our borders and completed their mission.

NONE, since 9/11. DO YOU ALL GET THAT!!!!

If you are going to demand that our government and it's leaders DO SOMETHING (as we have a right to demand) make sure what you demand is even possible first.

President Bush would have to violate the laws of office, of our country, our type of government to make the INSTANT CHANGES I have seen demanded by multiple posters on this very thread.

The EXACT AMOUNT of new BORDER PATROL PERSONNEL is being added each month, as per LAWS AND BILLS PASSED BY THE SENATE and CONGRESS of our national government.

President Bush did not hire these people, or vote them in.

WE DID.

Do not blame President BUSH for following the law and spending the money you authorized, and not a penny more.

If you violate the law to soothe people's concerns, your public gains false consolation, and you are still a law violator.

We wanted Bill Clinton to follow the law, and damned him for not doing so.

We get a President who follows the law and yet the public wants to blame him for things that have not occurred due to the increase in surveillance and security so far.

MOST PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY should consider whether they deserve to be an AMERICAN CITIZEN, instead of whether George Bush deserves to be PRESIDENT.

A free and independent America is the side I am on, Not sure what side you are on.

A FREE AND INDEPENDENT AMERICA?

If you want the borders CLOSED, then you are not interested in a FREE and INDEPENDANT AMERICA.

You are like a crack addict hiding in his house, afraid to go out and face the world.

You assume you are safe because your doors and windows are boarded up.

You might be safe, but you assuredly are not FREE nor INDEPENDANT.

Your finances have dried up because you have cannot interact with others in employment or earnings.

Your false pride in being a 'TRUE AMERICAN' and keeping all NON-AMERICANS out has left you in the silence, and the darkness, to die alone.

Your comment is baiting, at the very least.

Since you aren't in DC campaigning against the high rate of child molestors, then should one assume you are FOR MOLESTING CHILDREN?

If you are going to spend time TYPING on a KEYBOARD, you should make better use of your time.

COME UP WITH A MORE INTELLIGENT RESPONSE OR QUESTION and promote solutions, instead of making obviously ridiculous arguments.

As I have stated and offered before, YOU come up with a PLAN OUTLINE, with timetables, money resources, get the SENATE and CONGRESS to SWEAR to SUPPORT you during VOTING, an impact statement on the financial losses for American companies, for Canadian, for Mexican companies, for all FOREIGN COMPANIES (many of those who died on the WTC on 9/11 were not 'AMERICANS', they just worked here.) for "CLOSING THE BORDERS", WITH AN EXPECTED COMPLETION DATE.

We will all look it over and if it is workable, then we will all tell the President WHAT A GOOF HE IS.

If you cannot provide the simple outline of a workable plan, in writing, RIGHT FRICKING NOW, then I would suggest that you realize your complaints are having the same type of effect as the lies of the DEMS in regards to the US MILITARY LIVES AT RISK IN IRAQ.

THINK ABOUT THAT.

Are you a good citizen?

Or are you risking Americans safety, security and happiness because you enjoy bitching?

What are you smoking; whatever it is you have had too much of it.

The United Stetes is a resource rich country of nearly 300 million people. If that is not enough to make your business run profitably, then you have major problems, and should consider selling the thing to someone who knows how to run a it.

I listened to the speech during Sean Hannity yesterday. Bush is about 5 years late making it.

What amazed me is how he came on as the Caped Crusader that just discovered we have a problem and now he is going to solve it. That is nonsense - Bush is the problem. If he was serious about this he would have already done something about it.
