No you are not.
I'm after the BULLSEYE
Huh, what'd he say???
I would suggest that you do NOT engage in verbal combat with MHKING.
I will leave it at that...
Looks like the game plan is for lazy bums of New Orleans to gobble up billions in FEMA money to pay the illegal aliens who will rebuild their sinful city. New Orleans residents won't be doing the hard work but will be bossing around the illegal aliens
Give what a rest?
He used an offensive term to refer to black folks straight outta the box.
What was the content of the zotted post?
The title was intended to get everyone's attention.
Quite frankly, I can't argue with what he's got in the petition.
There are some piss-poor people passing themselves off as legitimate politicians in Louisiana; I would hope that the locals start to see that, given the actions (or lack of action) of those politicians since September.
The larger question is whether or not the folk there have enough on the ball to see that and do something about it.
NOLA Mayor Nagin was here in Atlanta yesterday giving a "town hall meeting" where he insisted that NOLA residents (or former residents in many cases) should come back to New Orleans.
The general concensus was "come back to WHAT!?"
Most who attended have gotten on with their lives; acquired new jobs, new homes, started creating new lives for themselves here in Georgia.
Far as I'm concerned, Nagin needs to get off his posterior and get some positive action going on before he wanders the nation begging people to return to New Orleans in time to try to get his sorry butt reelected.
My only fear is that those who actually did go back would be stupid enough to reelect him.
And in that light, Liberty911's post is right on the money.
Right on, brother.
Get her done and the taps will open and the green flood will flow.
This is America, we don't lose cities, not to terrorists, not to storms, we just don't.
But this bottle has a cork in it, and the cork has got to go. Compass and Huey down, Blanco, Broussard, two Landrieus and Nagin yet to go.
Time's wasting, storm season begins in less than seven months, every indication says it will be another record year, and New Orleans is standing wide open.
ok thx.
ok thx.
ok thx.
It should be allowed to expire.
LOGIC BTTT
I,in the early eighties, enjoyed (or endured) the experience of being employed as a salaried staff member at a nonprofit environmental organization.
As a staff member I was included in meetings with staff from a number of other similar groups. Like Sierra Club, CBE, etc.
I learned that these groups were about creating a a handful of jobs for the salaried staff. To this end, they needed to put forth to the public that,1: the world needs saving; and 2: they alone, know how to save it.
That is power when rendered by a practiced, impassioned canvasser who projects this crap on some some unwary citizen who answers the knock on the door. The canvasser gets 40% of the take. There are folks who make their living doing this. Their practiced spiel is so good that that they can make almost anyone feel responsible for global warming, oil spills and any other real or imagined environmental disasters that can be envisioned.
The organization I worked for bragged about raising One Million dollars per year. They never wanted anyone to know that, of that million, $830,000 went to the commissions, van rentals, motel rooms, meals, and other expenses involved in collecting this money.
The bottom line is that, after more than thirty years of existence, they have done absolutely nothing to benefit our environment. If you want detials, Freepmail me
It is sad. When vast organizations like United Way pay stellar salaries, build huge buildings, and dump chunks of cash into the starving pockets of advertising agencies and media buyers, it's time to take charity elsewhere.
The fact that they apply their considerable political "muscle" against the Boy Scouts of America and other charities who don't "get on board" is another issue.
It's not all bad, though. Did you know that the Salvation Army spends over 90% of donations on... helping the needy?
What a concept!
