Now President Bush is Lying: Why?
NationalLedger.com ^ | Dec 20, 2005 | JB Williams

Posted on 12/20/2005 8:21:20 PM PST by PlainOleAmerican

In the President’s address to the nation Sunday the 18th, 2005, he made this statement, “It is true that Saddam Hussein had a history of pursuing and using weapons of mass destruction. It is true that he systematically concealed those programs, and blocked the work of U.N. weapons inspectors. It is true that many nations believed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. But much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong.”

This is the confession many Americans have been demanding for years now and for what-ever reason, the President decided to make this confession before the world community in this address. But is this a true and accurate assessment of the situation as we now know it, based on the facts?

I'm glad Bush is on the offensive, finally, but this portion of his speech felt, to me, like he'd sold me out for my continued support.

Sorry to pick on you but it is this sort of thing that makes me wonder why anyone whould WANT to be President. 1st we hear for month on ends screaming for Bush to fight back. So Bush fights back and NOW you all are mad because the form it takes is designed to reach the maximum amount of voters NOT just the faithful! Bush sees the 1st signifincant jump in his approval rating for months, what you all were clamering for, and now you complain that you feel betrayed. UGGGGGG! A President may just as well go about his job and ignore you all. Nothing he does will ever warrent ANY favorable comment!!!!

I don't understand why he won't mention any of the things I have read about, and why the DOD won't release docsa to Stephen Hayes, docs with titles such as: "IIS (Iraqi Intel Service) Correspondance for the Iraqi Embassy in the Phillipines and Iraqi MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)" Summary full reports on connections between Abu Sayef and the Qadafi Charity Establishment and on certain individuals travelling to Pakistan and involvements with bin Laden"

Especially since Qadafi paid $25 mill to Abu Sayef in the summer of 2000, to secure the release of 25 western hostages.

This is still my theory:

Axis of Evil were pooling resources, so noone would have all the pieces, and were actually building nuclear weapons (and other WMD) in Libya.

I think Bush Admin knows things we don't (imagine that) and for some reason they won't come out and tell the whole story.

Maybe following leads to see where they lead?

Apologies from most of us are in order, but I gotta tell ya that it's been a weird day. FR has been crawling with trolls today and we all did react a little too quickly.

Keyword "much", he didn't say all. No intelligence is 100% right nor 100% wrong.

I'm with you Johnnie, this president has been given grief for the price of tea in China and every thing else under the Sun.

This is my president, I support him, and our troops.

God bless them all for keeping us safe in these troubling times.

I'm being hacked to death here by people who didn;t bother to read the column...

Come on now. Be honest.
You slap up a provocative headline.
In Breaking News.
With some provocative excerpts.
And no comments.
With a link to a somewhat impolite site.

And you want us to believe you were surprised when you got a reaction.

Always keep this in mind:

William Tecumseh Sherman

"I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast."
