From the opening post:

"The final item that Pamela presented to the judge is that Scott is scheduled for surgery to close his tracheotomy opening, which should allow him to regain his ability to speak and make sound."

Now if Eliza had her way, Scott would have been starved to death at the hospice, instead of looking forward to a great prognosis.

"Terri Schiavo: Schiavo was dehydrated to death earlier this year by rule of law. She was a victim of a legal system that had become obsessed with legal process at the expense of justice. The trial in her case was not originally well handled and the courts hung that record around her neck like a millstone, refusing to truly and thoroughly examine new facts that came to light."

What I found interesting about that entry is that it comes from Always On, not exactly your right wing fundamental Christian radical site.

"Thank God for the great news!"

Yes! I am SO grateful to Him that our prayers were answered. Wouldn't a 'no' have crushed, broken the bruised reeds! ...

I am so grateful for a judge who, it would seem, allowed open discussion of all aspects, and ruled accordingly. Many of us in Jacksonville met downtown on the Day of Prayer to pray together for our city (as well as state & nation), all aspects of government, individuals, leaders, etc ... I was relying on that.

Baptist ping...

This is a good news story. I have to think that the different outcome is due largely to the judge. The same laws applied to Scott and should have been applied to protect innocent persons such as Terri.

I want yall to know about this case. It came up shortly after the death of Terri Schiavo. There have been several other situations in different states where people were in danger of forced death via the courts.

If you're not aware of Will to Live , it serves to protect your life and not take it as a living will is intended to do. You can find the Will to Live at the NRLC site (National Right to Life) and there are specific ones for each state.

"Praying for a miracle."

And a miracle took place! Thank God!!!

The country prayed and our prayers were answered. We were a part of those prayers.

excerpt:

TALLMANSVILLE, W.Va. — Twelve miners caught in an explosion in a coal mine were found alive Tuesday night, more than 41 hours after the blast, family members and Gov. Joe Manchin said.

Bells at a church where relatives had been gathering rang out as family members ran out screaming in jubilation.

Relatives were yelling, "They're alive!"

Cold morning sadness bump about the miner story mistake.

May it not dim the wonderful victory of Scott and his family of yesterday, and may support continue to build for them all so as to stop the death cultists in their tracks.

I still don't know why the judge gave the guardianship to the mother to begin with, when the FL law otherwise awards it to the "spouse." This judge must not be in the pocket of the George W. Greer clique.

FL law has several 'safeguards' which would disqualify a spouse from being guardian. Greer ignored them. Judge Wilkes has good judgement and ability to apply the law.
