Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

Well, uhh can you..err sort of tell us...uhh..what, what exactly you..uhh..are thinking about when..ahh..you look at him? If you give me all the details then I can more accurately determine if what you are thinking is wrong.

Schumer reminds me of that car salesman from hell who doesn't want to let you leave his car lot to test drive another car. You know, the really pushy guy who keeps saying "are there any other cars you want to test drive?...how 'bout this one here...only 110,000 miles, runs great." And you're saying, no I have two other places I have to go to test drive cars before I make a decision. I've met a few like him...it's ends up being my will against his (but I never give in...hah, hah).
Loved it! The guy on now from New York is why we have people like Chuck Schumer.
Good analysis. The Dems are doing themselves immense harm in an election year by their arrogant and petulant display during these hearings. Their lack of intelligence, grace, fairness, and decency is now out there for all the world to see. Many Republican campaign agencies will be referring back to these tapes to portray Democratic candidates as buffoons and fools in spot ads for Republican candidates.

Listen to this guy from NYC complaining that Judge Alito doesn't remember much. It didn't seem to bother him when he elected Hillary to the Senate.
Most people take the Drudge report as Mrs. Alito breaking down during DEM questioning. The FR threads spontaneous reactions are of that nature. If you didn't see it first hand, the impression is that she's weak. Fact is, she's not.

I want to be the next nominee. It would be the 1st time a nominee was rejected 100-0 but these Senators seriously need a sever verbal lashing spread out over several days.

How sad that Mrs. Alito was in tears listening to Lindsey's apology. To see her husband's 25 year record and his good name dragged thru the mud--or "drug thru the mud" to quote Newt!--must have been excruciating for her to hear. Especially when it's all lies!
