"I'm not a Nielson family"

And you don't ever want to be one. We did it years ago and with 6 of us in the house all changing the channels constantly, it was a joke.

Alito should withdraw to tend to his unstable wife and spare future trauma

Imagine what will happen if Alito is on the court and gets criticized in papers and on TV for various controversial rulings. His wife will be miserable and to continue on this course endangers her mental health. He should do the responsible thing and withdraw.

The Dem's know they have gone too far with this hateful comments.

Every one of those hateful Democrats owes an apology to the Alito family.

profound bon mots ...

---Mr D's alchemy is not helping him today, in his changing this heavy weight into his mush gold.

Also, it seems that the D's are trying to take advantage with end of the day questions as though they think, maybe he'll slip up if he gets tired..

Time for another call ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

WASHINGTON - The wife of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito left his confirmation hearings in tears Wednesday.

Martha-Ann Bomgardner, who had sat behind her husband for hours of questioning over several days, left as her husband was being questioned by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham (news, bio, voting record) of South Carolina.

"Are you really a closet bigot?" Graham asked Alito. The nominee said no, and Graham said, "No sir, you're not."

Graham's questions came after withering questions from several Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats.

Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch (news, bio, voting record) of Utah suggested that she was upset with the questioning from Democrats. "She's sick and tired of the mistreatment of her husband," Hatch said. He also said that she was suffering from a migraine headache.

She returned to the hearing room after a committee break, smiling and holding her husband's hand.

They're stupid. They don't give a $&!* about his wife. They just want him to leave.

Since that picture of her has her left eye not squinting. I'd say it's something that comes up when she's reporting. I don't think you've heard some of the reports she's done. Go ahead and watch her. Your a man. And I'm a woman. I like that FOX has great looking women on (whatever it takes). They just have to get with the program.

I have to make dinner before I post one more thing. But, I will read the rest of the thread. (Can't help myself. It's addictive.) Before I cook. My son keeps saying, "What time is it?"

Lindsey apologized to the Alito family for the remarks made throughout the hearings.

Just as it always is a person can stand their ground and stay strong when being attacked, but when someone offers words of comfort and thoughtfulness, it can get a person misty eyed.

Lindsey Graham apologized for the garbage going on in these hearings. He got emotional and so did she. She had to get up and leave for a short while.

they will never apologize. This is all part of the game for them. I worked with these people, they'll all go out tonight and look at this as being a victory of sorts.

Hell, Ted killed someone and he has yet to apologize.
