The sad part is that almost every time we've sent (either knowingly or unknowingly) a Gay GOPer to Congress, it's usually resulted in disaster (either disastrous votes (Jim Kolbe), or engaging in personally destructive behavior that leads to their downfall - like Bob Bauman of MD or Jon Hinson of MS). Try bringing up the name Jon Hinson to any Mississippi GOPer active in the past 20 years and you get a visceral reaction like no other.

Well, Steve Gunderson wasn't all that bad, was he? And if you believe some rumors (which I don't), some of the more conservative members of Congress are in the closet.

As for self destruction, you forgot to mention Ed Schrock.
