THAT is amazing. Really it is. They never got a single seat in 2004 and only got 6.2% in votes. This is a real breakthrough and backlash both at the same time.

Congrats Canadian Conservatives......your USA brethren support and love ya. We will stay out of your politics though unlike nosy Michael Moore sticking his fat nose into your business up north. Carry on the conservative torch up there Canadian style....ay?

Yup - Harper is a REALLY smart guy, well-spoken, and with a good sense of humor. Despite the coming (and expected) hatchet job from the CBC and CP's Parliamentary Bureau, he should still be able to impress Canadians (and Americans!).

Considering how tilted Canada is to the Left, a month ago I would have said its impossible. And yet this day has come true. A lot of people worked hard to make it happen and never gave up. There are always possibilities. Today, the country is much better off than it was under the Liberals. Its a new era.

I just turned on C-Span and they had a reporter at NDP headquarters. She mentioned to the guy she was interviewing that they have less seats so far than they now hold. He said he knew they'd come ahead, especially in Vancouver.

I find this very exciting, but, unfortunately, don't know too much about Canadian politics (except that I don't like Martin and some of his predecessors). Would you please briefly explain the NDP platform - - are they further left or a little right of the Liberals? I'm guessing if Vancouver is going to help them, but would appreciate your input! Thanks!

Wow it would be awesome if the conservatives win! Seahawks win yesterday, Canadian Conservatives today and a date w Jack Bauer in a little while ;-) What a week and it's only Monday!

Same here. But when you consider the scare-mongering campoaign the Liberals ran, their fear and lies - NONE of it worked. They LOST. That's the result that matters in politics. They were finally held accountable by the electorate.
