If you're short on time, FReepmail me to get on or off the condensed version ping list.

The FReeper's Weekly Q&A Session is an educational ping list designed to help FReepers expand their knowledge and understanding of our government from a conservative standpoint. Join myself and others as we explore the Constitution, learn who our representatives are, and discuss laws and issues from a perspective we may not have considered before.

Each week I will present a topic to get things started, but please feel free to ask any questions you may have. This is the one place you may do so without getting jumped on for being DUmb, so come on board and maybe you'll learn a thing or two!

At the end of each week I'll summarize what has been discussed into one concise post. I'll include links to sources for more info and point you to the replies that were particularly informative. Be sure to sign up for the condensed version instead if you're short on time.

FRegards!

Good cause it’s a pain in the butt getting all of those tags right and I’m tired of fooling with it.

Thanks again for your help.

(Sorry for so many posts but I'm having particular trouble with the 2nd email option sometimes working and sometimes not. If anyone knows why it does this or how to fix it then please let me know.)

All 3 of the options work when I preview, but the last two only work half the time when I send it through. WHY??? It just worked in preview, let's see if it works now...

I cut out a cartoon from the newspaper. How do I post it on FR? It probably is mentioned here somewhere. My computer knowledge is greatly limited - so it would have to be simple.

I just saw this question, and that it was still unanswered. So, if you're still needing to know how to get a newspaper clipping on to FR, here you go:

  1. Digitize the cartoon, either by using a scanner or by taking a picture of it with a digital camera. Either way, you should end up with (preferably) a .JPG image of the cartoon.
  2. Use a digital photo editing program, one is usually included on the CD that came with the scanner or camera, to resize the (probably) large .JPG file to a more reasonable size. (I'd say the largest dimension should be less than 1000, at the most, maybe half that)
  3. Upload that .JPG file to an Internet location. If your Internet provider has included some FTP space as part of your package, there should be some instructions available from them as to how you upload a file to your FTP area. Otherwise, you can upload the .JPG file to a free image hosting service, such as Tinypic or ImageShack.
  4. After uploading the image, you'll need to determine the URL that links to it. The free hosting sites should display the URL right after you upload the file. Copy that URL (i.e. http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/7792/agdnc04zv5.jpg) and paste it into Notepad, or some place where you can save it.
  5. To post the image onto Free Republic, use the HTML tag "IMG" like so: <IMG SRC="MyURL">.

The URL I used above is an image of Al Gore that's on ImageShack, so we'll use it:

<IMG SRC="http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/7792/agdnc04zv5.jpg"> will give us this:

This isn’t an HTML thing, but I’d like to play in the sandbox.

I’d like to learn about taglines. I hope they don’t have to be re-typed with every post. I’ll check.
