just two.Coburn and Demint.
I really do not think liberals are a threat. They are what they are and that is the way it is always going to be.WE are the problem. We are the majority. We just wasted 10 years in the majority GROWING the Budget 33%(1.8 to 2.6).
When my own house is not in order I really do not care what is going on at the neighbors.

"Why isn't Mike Pence - Indiana on that list? "

I don't know. The article was done last year.

"BTW, Boehner will get the job done."

That is what my Mid West In/Out Laws have been saying.

I see it differently. If I'm not mistaken, the issue has to do with employers not willing to pay for a background check on possible new hires. Boehner thinks that is an undue burden. I say, baloney! You hire an illegal, you're breaking US law and you should be prosecuted and punished. Period.

Agree. I think this let's McCain know he doesn't run the House and he might want to butt out.

I know the bill passed. The point is, Boehner voted aginst it for the specific issue of not wanting to see employers punished for hiring illegals and violating the law.

Right. They're all moderates, and as Rush has said, "You won't find the book Great Moderates In American Society in any library in this country".

Boehner is a "GO ALONG WITH DEMOCRATS, TO GET ALONG" Type Republican.

MEANING HE WILL CAVE IN TO DEMOCRATS......

DELAY Got more done for the Republican agenda then anybody.

Boehner won't get squat through.

WE DID NOT ELECT REPUBLICANS TO GET ALONG WITH DEMS!!!!

See Boehner own quote about extending an OLIVE BRANCH..

http://www.thehill.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Frontpage/020206/boehner.html

Boehner is expected to bring a new style to the leader’s post after pledging during the campaign to involve more members in the legislative process and to offer an olive branch of sorts to House Democrats

I'm not saying Boehner didn't have a right to speak up. That isn't my point. The fact remains, on this specific immigration issue, Boehner is for the employer NOT being punished in a case of violating the law for hiring illegals. Any good immigration reform proposal would include a provision to prosecute and punish employers who violate the law in hiring illegals.

"The idea that employers who violate the law by hiring illegals, should be punished."

Tell the full story. There is a six year amnesty before any penalties are enforced.

"I know this is going to come as a huge shock to the usuall collection of Freepers but the Congress is a Co Equal branch of Govt...It would be wholly inapproprate for the White House to indicate a preference here."

Good post and bears repeating.

PUT THE WHOLE QUOTE:

A deputy to former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), Boehner is expected to bring a new style to the leader’s post after pledging during the campaign to involve more members in the legislative process and to offer an olive branch of sorts to House Democrats.

Boehner has long been considered DeLay’s chief rival, and he pledged during his campaign to renew many of the ideals that characterized the so-called Republican Revolution spear-headed by Gingrich.

The issue has to do with employers not willing to retrain legal new hires who will undoubtably know that being legal means they can't be underpaid the minimum wage, not paid overtime, etc.
