A NEW POLL OUT TODAY CONFIRMS THE INEVITABLE Most Think Clinton Will Run in '08
Two-thirds of Americans believe Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will run for president, but only one-third believe she can win, according to a national poll released Wednesday. The first is no surprise, but the mere 33% of people who even "believe" she can win has to be chilling for Mrs. Clinton's ambitions. To have come so far and yet fallen so low. How can she possibly recover? How can she have a candle's chance of grabbing the gold ring, of cashing in her big chip, of getting what is rightfully hers, of glomming on to the big one for which she has endured so much humiliation?
There is, my friends, only one way. Only one ticket will work for her and the Democrats: CLINTON-CLINTON in 08!
That's right. Hillary for President. Bill for Veep. After all, the XXII amendent doesn't say anything about the office of the Vice-President, does it? And Bill's never held that office even once. As far as Bill becoming the President again should anything happen to Mrs. Clinton, well the XXII amendment only forbids being "elected" to the office.
Say what you will, you've got to admit its a pretty slick ticket.
[Ed. Note: American Digest would like to apologize in advance for any gastrointestinal upsets that this item may cause among its readers.]
Bill may expire by 2008, and if he does then there will be a considerable sympathy vote in her favor.
Psst. Don't give her any good ideas.
Who would off who.... hard to tell given their histories.
See amendment 22, I think that disqualifies I42.
Ahem, let's try the XII Amendment, to wit:
But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.
Game Over.
wouldn't it be against the law for Bill to run as a Vice-president, because if Hitlery died, he would become president again?
I think you're right; since as VP, he'd have a "chance" to be POTUS, I don't think he can.
Thats the most disgusting idea tonight. This will give me nightmares. I need to look at it again but wasnt there an effort to get Clinton as VP the last time because under the law the Pres could resign and Bill Clinton could be Prez for 4 years. It was an Air America idea.
They say "a pretty slick ticket". I say a pretty "sick" ticket in the negative sense.
I'm not sure, the wording is 'elected', but there's that 'some other person' wording. I believe this thought has been debunked by experts earlier though.
Section 1.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Thanks, I missed that. I knew there was wording there somewhere.
Would be even better if Bill is there to sink her further.
All that has to be done is bring up in detail his part in how China got some of our missile and guidance technology from America with his approval so now they can nuke any city in the USA.
I think this needs to be mentioned often.
Bill Clinton is not.
A VP must be eligible to become president. Bill, pardon the expression, has already shot his wad. (No, it really is a gambling term)
See posts 7 and 13, amendment 12 and 22 apply.
But XXX-42 is only constitutionally ineligible to be elected president again, not to be be president. What if he was speaker of the house and both the President and VP caught some disease (maybe from something left in the Oval Office restroom from the late 1990s) and keeled over dead. Would Speaker of the House XXX-42 be able to become President?
I'm not saying I'm right. Just that there is some ambiguity and XXX-42 has argued about less ambiguous things.
