None of the "reporting" about the NSA story was accurate.

LOL! I wouldn't trust the media to report that I have red hair, if they were standing in front of my at the time.

The New Media is a lovely thing. We have to many great resources available to us now. I do not watch TV at all, unless THE President is on, and haven't read a newspaper is many many years.

Does anyone know if the WH, DoD or DoJ had websites available during any other administration?

Wonderful and one who is involved in shipping that explains what is the truth very clearly.

Many people do not understand who the "shipper" actually is.

"Also, seems he just dropped some information on Musharaff, that Musharaff was none to pleased with. Did anyone else hear? something that is going to cause a rift between Musharaff and karsai. Blitzer seemed quite pleased with himself."

Can only link the article here because of their copyright policy, but this may have been what Wolfie was referring to (it's the only one I can find on A/P and CNN refers to an A/P article):

Afghanistan Shares Intel With Pakistan

By MATTHEW PENNINGTON
Associated Press Writer

"A senior Afghan counterterrorism official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity because of the issue's sensitivity, said Afghanistan had given Pakistan information about 150 suspects, including senior and second-tier Taliban commanders.

"A lot of Taliban are living in Quetta, Peshawar and Karachi," he said, referring to three major Pakistani cities. He said Afghanistan gave specific information to Pakistan, including some addresses.

The counterterrorism official said the suspects included Mullah Dadullah and described him as the top operational commander in the Taliban insurgency. He claimed Dadullah moved between Pakistan and Afghanistan."

From CNN:
Musharraf: Karzai is 'oblivious' about his own country

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Pervez Musharraf ripped into the president of neighboring Afghanistan on Sunday, telling CNN that Hamid Karzai is "totally oblivious" to what's happening "in his own country."

Tension between the two leaders, both key U.S. allies in the effort to crush al Qaeda, has developed "in the last one or two months," Musharraf told CNN's "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer."

Musharraf was furious over an Associated Press report that Karzai had given Pakistan intelligence suggesting that former Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar and his associates are hiding in Pakistan. The report also said Afghanistan gave Pakistan information about locations of alleged terrorist training camps along the border between the two nations. (Posted 12:58 p.m.)

Ralph Peters: Iraq 'Civil War' A Media Myth NewsMax ^ | March 5, 2006 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 03/05/2006 10:45:36 AM PST by Kaslin

Reports that Iraq has descended into a civil war are not only not true - they're being promulgated by anti-war journalists eager to see U.S. efforts to establish a stable democracy in the country fail.

So says military analyst Ralph Peters, who just spent a week touring Baghdad with the 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.

"I'm looking for the civil war that The New York Times declared. And I just can't find it," Peters declared in his New York Post column on Sunday.

Instead, he reports: "I saw children and teenagers in a Shia slum jumping up and down and cheering our troops as they drove by."

"Cheering our troops," he repeated.

Snip.....

Sites have been up for years, including sites for original FTP files. It's just that every year they put more and more online and available to the public.

Here's hoping we can get his and/or similar ones in more newspapers, and get it on Rush, Tony, et al. I would LOVE to see him on Brit's show!!!

Thank you Morgan. I was uninvolved at every level during the last 2 1/2 administrations and had no idea if the sites existed prior to W.

The port deal is raising awareness of how our ports are operated. It is strange, that under the toon, no one objected to China being given that authority. Now we also find out that Saudi is running some of the ports.

It is made to sound like they are taking over the entire port, not just some berths in that port. According to P&O's web site, they only had up to 7berths in one port, and as few as 2 in another.

We are also hearing that only 5% of containers are being checked. The voices saying that 100% are checked from the EXIT port is not being heard.

It is frustrating how much ignorance on the topic is being repeated, often, and how little any real knowledge is mentioned.

Just did a quick look at FR before signing off - Here's a great story, that you probably won't see in the Rummy-bashing MSM:

Rumsfeld Pays Surprise Visit as Wounded Troops Hit the Slopes
American Forces Press Service ^ | 5 March 2006 | Donna Miles

Posted on 03/05/2006 11:00:14 AM PST by A.A. Cunningham

WASHINGTON, March 5, 2006 – Wounded troops participating in the third annual Vail Veterans Program here got a surprise visit on the ski slopes today when Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld arrived to cheer them on and congratulate them for their accomplishments

Rumsfeld and his wife Joyce appeared unannounced last night, joining 24 servicemembers who lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan at the top of Vail Mountain for dinner at the Eagle's Nest Restaurant.

>snip

Worley praised the "motivated, caring people" who put the program together. "They're determined to make sure we have a good time, if we want to or not," he laughed.

Participants said they were also impressed that Rumsfeld took the time from his schedule to check out the program personally and meet with the wounded troops it is serving.

"I think the fact that he's here to hang out is absolutely awesome," said Washburn.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jose Ramos, who lost an arm serving in Iraq with the 1st Marine Division Sniper Platoon, said he wishes the media would give more coverage to Rumsfeld's personal interaction with wounded troops. "It's something you never hear about, and we really appreciate him coming here," he said.

Army 1st Lt. Ryan Hollin, a below-the-knee amputee who was wounded in Balad, Iraq, agreed. "His coming here to support us physically shows that he appreciates our sacrifices," he said. "It's one thing to say you support the troops. But his actions show that he really means it."

As a former part of a first responder outfit, I can tell you Hurricane awareness and protection is/are taken very seriously by the State of Florida every year. They warn the People all year long and especially after June 1 when the Season begins. It is not just for safety of Humans it is for the sake of the Citrus Grove Owners, The Vegetable and Produce Farmers, The Cattle People and the Ornamental Nursery People that can have their lifelong work/Business devastated and destroyed by not preparing adequately for a Hurricane. They are constantly updating their training classes for those that will be The First responders and it is always stressed that it is not just a local effort, it is Statewide and with the Cooperation of the Federal Government. One of the Most important aspects of Training and retraining is to try and convince the Public that they have to leave, and you have to have answers to their many questions. It should not be a part of Homeland Security, but there must be a liaison between the Two Government Offices that will always cut to the chase/bottom line. There is no place in this setup for egos, and if the two parties cannot get along for the sake of the Public Safety, throw them the Hell out. I have had to work with people I did not even want to be in the same room with when we had one crisis or another, and for that time we worked together as smooth as freshly tanned leather because it is your job and it is not about you it is about other People's lives and property/Livelihood.

Here is a link to an article on the visit, love the comment

***
"Rumsfeld, who was also secretary of defense in the 1970s under President Ford, a longtime Vail Valley resident, said he's an OK skier.

"I like to go fast as opposed to look good," Rumsfeld said.
