HAS ANYBODY SAID IT YET? BOYCOTT THE OSCARS (Oscars Live Thread)
3-4-06 | freedom4me

Posted on 03/05/2006 1:43:20 PM PST by freedom4me

I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.

I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.

Pass it on...

"I can't name the worst movie I ever saw"

I can: Separate Tables, David Nivin. No story, no nothing.

And now Hollywood is single-handedly restoring the economy of the Gulf Coast. I suggest they be canonized immediately.

Well, I'm convinced. Forget FEMA. Hollywood definitely should be in charge of disaster preparation and response. Sean Penn could direct operations with a bullhorn while standing in his rubber dinghy.

What's sad though is I really like watching movies. Own tons of DVDs and get all the pay channels. SW II in its OAR in HD was incredible.

"I can't believe how many of them are chewing gum"

That's because they all smoke but can't smoke there, so they have to chew gum instead.

Oh that's who's doing it. Glad to know. /sarcasm

Actually for the first time I do feel a bit sorry for them. They've become like trained bears, I.e. magnificent animals; only in a physical sense, or genetic lottery winners, who prostitute themselves for scraps of food; or adulation in the case of Hollywood. Nevertheless, ignorant, exploited beasts.

I think Morgan Freeman is happily married.

"BM" wins a musical award. Let's hope that's the token one for the evening.

"Sean Penn could direct operations with a bullhorn while standing in his rubber dinghy."

And hopefully he'd forget to put the plug in again.

"Best Score goes to the movie about a dude scoring with a dude."

So someday it'll be on those 'Romantic Records' things or muzak. Great. Perfect.

Some famous person spoke of the triumph of a culture exporting its dreams. Men/men and women/women is the best we can do.

We are so toast. At least the Shakers were religious.

Barney has been conned by a jewel thief that he's actually a G-man becuase he knows the secret handshake.

Barney asks the "G-man" if he has a couple of extra bullets he can spare.

The crook has slipped some knock-out drops in Barney's milk!

The musical score that accompanies Barney's blinking should have been nominated for something.

Speaking of Uma Thurman and the great Sean Connery... one of the worst movies I've ever seen was the new Avengers.
