Were shaking in our boots Hugo. What is their military budget on bows & spears? (seriously!)

Chavez has been on an anti-US crusade since he was elected. He's getting kookier every day.

Who's this guy kidding? Is he going to march up through Mexico? We'll just stop them at the border. Oh, um...wait. Maybe not...

Maybe his army will be managed by the same folks who organised the Million Man March.

They are probably cutting down the rain forest to make the wooden rifles they are marching with.

What the article fails to mention is that 20 Venezuelan regulars are roughly equivalent to one US soldier from any branch of service-- including coast guard and boy scouts.

The number of potential soldiers between the ages of 18 and 49 is more than six million Big whoop. The NRA has something on the order of 4 million members, but the vast majority of US gun owners don't even belong. The average gun owner owns several guns, and knows basically how to use them. Unlike the Swiss, we wouldn't even have to all shoot once, let alone twice.
When the German Kaiser asked in 1912 what the quarter of a million Swiss militiamen would do if invaded by a half million German soldiers, a Swiss replied: shoot twice and go home

This is really weird...some of the best people I have ever met were from Venezuela. Many were engineers working here to learn enough to go back to their own country.

Those over the age of 18 have to serve a 2,5-year military service in the country, which has a population of 25 million.
Conscription is inefficient.

$ 2 Billion Dollar Budget? Thats like $1,000.00 per Volunteer. C'mon how's that a threat. The best they can arm these guys is the cheapest hand gun in the world (Found at your local Dollar Store) and perhaps a Hockey Helmet, Jock Strap and a Army Uniform. I doubt they could add a walkie-talkie. (Perhaps a Dollar Store kind). Nows that just for equipment. Well maybe China is financing this, I mean they have a military budget that goes into the $32 B US range, Which can possibly be as high as $90 B US. They on the other hand if they where doing the same we would take that seriously, Where talking $16,000.00 a head, Enough to maintain them and arm them.

This citizen is getting sick and tired of being threatened by every little idiot dictator in the world.
There are plenty of us in this country that know how to shoot and how to fight and plenty of ex-military people who know how to lead. If they want to pick a fight with us, they should shut up and bring it on.
