Freeper's daughter in pediatric intensive care after bike accident (urgent prayers requested)

For those freepers who pray, am requesting prayer for my 12-yo daughter who was in a bike accident yesterday afternoon. She has been diagnosed with damage to her pancreas and moved to pediatric intensive care.

We don't know yet the extent of the damage. There are two scenarios that lead to surgery and one that leads to hospitalization and watching and letting her recover on her own. So we're praying for that but we just don't know at this point.

Her mom is at the hospital with her, they spent the night in the emergency room and as mentioned have now been moved to ped intensive care.

They will be doing a test shortly to assess the extent of the damage, we should know more after that.

Thanks for your prayers.

God bless her -- kids are resilient and tough. This little girl will be okay, that's the bottom line, thankfully. Prayers for her and mom and dad, family.

Update

Thanks for the prayers and encouragements. I have gotten off the phone with my wife a little while ago, our daughter is going in to surgery right about NOW.

Surgery is expected to last for about 2 hours or so. They may have to remove part of the spleen to get to the pancreas, but they are going to try and work around it if they can.

Wife sounded reasonably optimistic that what they're looking at removing will still allow her to come through without any significant long-term effects. So that, really, is what I'm really praying for.

Again, I really appreciate all of your prayers and encouragements. I've always known freepers were the best but have never experienced it personally as now. I don't know how i could say thank you that would really express how I feel.

Prayers for you, Luke Skyfreeper, and your better half, too. It's so difficult to sit there in the hospital, feeling helpless. Just keep praying and be there for your daughter. Keep her spirits up. It means everything.

Oh, that would be great if they would work around the pancreas and not cut into it.

As an aside, my brother had his spleen removed when he was young due to cancer and he's done very well without it.

Prayers for you all!

I will be going to hospital here shortly to be with my wife and maybe daughter when she comes out of surgery, a friend just arrived so I'm covered for babysitting for a while. My wife has been carrying things up at the hospital without me long enough, I think.

Prayers up from NJ. Sharing this from Holy Word, Luke. I hope it brings you strength and hope:

"He said, 'My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.'"--Exodus 33:14

Prayers do work and miracles do happen. I hold your little Skyfreeper up to the Lord for healing comfort and grace. In his precious name we pray. Amen.

My prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I pray to Jesus to watch over your family and the doctors.

You've had the strength to hold on before in difficult times - you know where to dig deep to find it again through this.

Please keep us informed when you can. From afar, we are wrapping your family in our arms.
