Will the Dems and Mainstream Media Win Their War Against Iraq?
The Post Chronicle ^ | 3/20/06 | Sher Zieve

Each and every day the Democrats and their "mainstream media" are denigrating the Iraq war, the Iraqis and US troops. Much the same as they were able to vilify those who fought in and supported the US fight against repressive communism in Viet Nam and were able to sway the American public toward opposition to that war, they are currently using their own bully pulpits to destroy any chance of democracy in Iraq.

Recently, I asked the question in an Op/Ed "Are Liberal Democrats Really Pro-Terrorist?" The answer, now, is a resounding "Yes." In fact, liberal politicians from both sides of the aisle are aiding the terrorists' ambitions. Leftist Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) has called for President Bush's censure-for working to protect the United States from these Islamo-fascists. Two of Feingold's leftist colleagues, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) have joined him in his call for censure and Sen. Dick "Turban" Durbin (D-IL) said (sort of) that he's considering it when he said on Fox News Sunday "I'm not ruling it in or out at this point in time."

They already have. There's no longer a question.

The MSM has succesfully employed the anti-Vietnam War strategy and dumb Americans have bought it hook, line, and sinker.

Doubt my conclusion? Check Bush's latest popularity contest (poll) numbers.

Would that be the polls in which democRATS are over-sampled by 10-15%??

Polls jimmied by trick question and oversampling democrats in urban areas.

Dems and MSM not winning. Liberal newspaper readership way down as folks flock to the Internet. Viewership in liberal news venues way down, Fox network is the only one hold on or gaining. Dems going more to kook base and will not be able to pull away from the gravity of Soros and Moveon.org. Look for more freaky behavior from the Democrats as they get more desperate and have to ratchet up their rhetoric from there already overheated position. Look for more "Feinstiens" and "Wellstone Funeral" type moments in an increasingly freaky "progressive" party.

Yep, them be the ones. Look, it doesn't matter how they obtain the numbers, the fact is that they do and it instantly becomes "fact" with the anti-America, anti-Bush crowd. They just want something to beat Bush up with and this junk gives it to them.

Regardless, you can hear every leftist from coast to coast oarroting these numbers. For all intents and purposes, the propaganda war (Dems and MSM) has been won by them. The actual shooting war is ours (Bush's) to lose.

No, the Dems and MSM will not win their war against the U.S. success in Iraq. The citizens of the U.S. have 'been there, done that' with the Vietnam War. Hindsight is becoming increasingly enlightening. We remember John Kerry, Jane Fonda, and Walter Cronkite and the tragic damage they executed against our troops and our country. We will not follow the anti-U.S. leaders this time. The current Dem polls are a sham, engineered by the same dunces who announced the skewed exit polls on election day in 2004. We voters are going to vote for national security, for which there is hope only with a Republican administration.

Are you sure this isn't a Karl Rove "Rope-a-dope". With the "Domestic Spying" thing, the Dems have put themselves into the noose and are kicking the horse.

Actually, that's a very good question, but not for the reason you might think. Rove is a pretty sharp cookie, but I would be very surprised if he could manipulate the leftists into believing that the war in Iraq is lost. They truly believe that Bush has messed it up and we should get out becuase it is unwinnable (in their perverted view). I think there will be a HUGE leftist backlash against the MSM AND the Dem leadership (if you want to call it that) when we walk away with a victory in Iraq. Right now, the leftists all want to believe that Iraq has descended into civil war and that all is lost because Bush screwed it up!!

The day I'm waiting for is when victory is assured and the troops come home, leaving behind a peaceful, democratic Iraq. THAT will be a day for the record books!!!

I am too...ONLY God can make this happen. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY for our troops, president and a victorious Iraq! The enemy has powerful tools at their disposal, but we have God's MOST AWESOME tool...our knees!!

but I would be very surprised if he could manipulate the leftists into believing that the war in Iraq is lost.

Rather, I think Rove foresaw that the dems and the press would go into the deep end of the pool and start treading water. All he would advise the President to do was not to overly defend himself or the war. The Dems and their surrogates in the press, being hopelessly enmeshed with the lunatic left-wing fringe, paddled right into into it saying "There is NO connection between Saddam and Al Quaeda", "Saddam had NO weapons of Mass Destruction before the war".

Lately it was Senator Fienstien's censure-ship fiasco in which He fled the senate floor and all the dems ran for cover when Senator Frist called them on it (censuring the President for defending us).

In doing these things they are hopelessly stuck in the deep end and can't back out.

Now that Saddam's documents and General Sada is speaking out they have to go into full spin control (what I call treading water) being exactly where Karl would like them to be - On the Subject of the war, rather than what the dems wish - domestic issues.

I'm praying that Karl and Senator Frist will put the dems feet to the fire before November's election and pin Hillary to the wall with an anti-flag burning bill right along side with a bill to keep the tax cuts permanent.

Hillary will have to cave into the hard left or appear like a panderer and the dem senators will have to vote with the president or be called tax raisers.

You raise a boat-load of great points. I think that the Dems and the MSM have painted themselves into a very tight and very dark corner and are desperately seeking their own "exit strategy". With the filtered release of some of the captured Saddam documents, I'm expecting to start seeing the chinks in the leftist attack strategy any day now. The "Bush lied, people died" mantra will become a gross embarrassment to the left and, if the sycophants have any sense (which we know they don't), they will recognize the change and start feeding on their own.

IMO, the news gets better every day!!

Precisely. When all you have lived on is hate and the target for the hate is taken away from you, that is exactly what happens - the hate turns inward and the dems and thier surrogates in the press will do - they will start feeding on each other.

Like a frog sitting happily in a warm watered frying pan, the heat is on below the dems and the lamestreamers. The heat rises and the water gets hotter, but they take no notice. Finnally the water boils and the frogs cook. All that has to be done, is to slowly add the fuel lest the toadies notice something is going on.

Right now, the dems are mighty hot and are happy about it with Hillary responding to being called an angry brittle person by saying "I am angry".

I agree with you, I would love to see them get another Kick of the Mule as my former Senator said and they would be "A National Party No More". For adulterizing marriage and being against private property rights (for eminent domain), they deserve it.

Her answer "I AM angry" is so she can leap forward into her attack against the Administration and Republicans because, AFTER ALL, they are so terrible she has every right to be angry.

Ha ha ha ha ha...

That is sooooo transparent, phony and trite.

Not that many people believe HILLARY, of all people, has a right to be so angry. She had a good education and became a lawyer. She's been a First Lady of a state and the U.S. several times over. She took a thousand dollars and threw it at the catte futures market and it came back to her as a hundred thousand dollars.

She's been investigated out the wazoo and so has Bill, but they always escape. Nothing can legally jeopardize her. Not even her illegally missing law firm billing records turning up in the White House, or Vince Foster's office being stripped of records relating to the Clintons and taken to a WH private residence closet while the FBI was kept outside the door in the Foster death investigation...

What happens in her own back yard or her own political party never anger her. She's so NOT angry with her serial philandering husband it isn't even funny. Well, she might cuss and throw lamps, but she never sent him packing, did she? She's NOT angry about ANYTHING...EXCEPT if it has politics written on it and she can pin it on President Bush or Republicans.

People as a whole are not quite as dumb as Hillary thinks. Too many ARE too dumb, but not enough are THAT dumb!

The more shrill and angry the MSM and Dems become, the closer to victory we really are. US casualty rates have been trending down significantly since October. Fewer deaths and wounded undercut the emotional appeal of the anti-war Left. They are desparate to find another mode of attack. Right now, it looks like "Iraq is descending into civil war." When that fails, it will be back to Abu Garib and Gitmo.
