Well yes I wish she didn't get pregnant to begin with either. She'd be better off but sometimes society has odd ways of rewarding such a thing.
Society shouldn't reward it at all, IMHO.
is that the one where they hold you upside down by your feet and shake the change from your pockets and tell you 'it's for the children' ?
If only it were just the pocket change.
have the dad take care of the kids while she in class?
That is a good one. I presume most of these baby daddy's are long gone or too busy hanging on the street to be bothered with babysitting duties. Face it--these women are on their own.
I was just hitting on the calling the kid names.
Did ya ever see the Ida Lupino movie about the changes in the 'foundling' laws.
The Mom's are trash, but lay off the kids.
Still can't compare to the GREATEST LYRICS EVER:
She wakes up early every morning just to do her hair now
Because she cares, y'all
Her day wouldn't be right without her make-up, she's never had a make-up
She's just like you and me but she's homeless, she's homeless
As she stands there singing for money
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
In my sleep I see her begging, reaching, please
Although the voice's not mine, I ask God why, God why
She's just like you and me but she's homeless, she's homeless
As she stands there singing for money
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
She's just like you and me
As she stands there singing for money
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
Oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
La da dee la di da, la da dee la di da
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
How do you know all that wasn't done at the school the girl transferred to, and the girl just doesn't feel "petted" enough?
It would have been nice for the Baltimore Sun to include a link to the article that inspired the one we're discussing now. I suppose I'll have to hold my nose and go look for it at the site...
It's a false choice anyway.
I want girls to stop aborting their babies AND I want them to stop volunteering for exploitation as if it were some sort of privilege.
me too. how can we make that happen?
I would like to start by shooting the testicles off of any male who refers to the mother of his children as a "baby mama", and slapping silly the foolish females who use that term to describe themselves.
It's probably a good thing I'm not in charge of the world.
There's single mothers and there's single mothers. I don't think calling them all losers is fair. Some are not high school drop-outs on welfare, they just made one bad choice. And the children are not at fault at all.
"There's single mothers and there's single mothers. I don't think calling them all losers is fair."
You're right. Some were widowed, or left by their husbands.
Thank you so much. I know plenty of other young women who made the same decision my mother did, either keeping their children or giving them up for adoption. I know others who volunteer at pregnancy centers, helping other women tio make the same choice. They're an inspiration, to say the least.
Yes, there are problems in this world, but there's a lot of reason for hope, too. There are people who aren't content to mock others from the sidelines.
Gimme the title of the movie.
My post wasn't meant to criticize, it was more of an "amen" type post. So sad, if you ask me.
" It take two to Tango."
I disagree with this.
I admire your attitude and your tenacity. Unfortunately, yours is not a unanimous attitude nor even a widespread one. Many parents aren't even aware of what their kids are learning or doing. Not all kids dress slutty or like zoned out kids with their pants falling off. They present a respectable appearance.
Yet, after hearing all the moral relativism at school and from their peers, where we all know from experience that the least achievers will try to drag down the others, it is not surprising that many succumb to the social pressure and raging hormones in private.
To think the left is not pushing this agenda with confusing words (linguistics), moral relativism, pushing a sexual agenda, warped sex ed, trashy movies and TV, is to not pay attention.
I am not relieving kids of the responsibility for their own decisions nor parents of their responsibility for teaching morals and correct conduct, I am just agreeing that we shouldn't be too judgmental when we see and hear things that sound incongruent to us. What is going on with kids now is not what many of us experienced.
You can't blame society for not doing your job.
In the event you are addressing that to me rather than generally, I am an old guy who has raised two wonderful, successful kids and have three so far wonderful grandchildren.
I am generally in agreement with you. I think kids are responsible for their own actions and must suffer the consequences for them. Parents are responsible for raising their kids with proper values.
I am only suggesting what the Bible says. Judge not lest ye be not judged and hate the sin, not the sinner. The left has targeted our kids and are corrupting their values. That is why they keep pushing for government supported, and later mandated, childcare for pre schoolers. They want to start indoctrinating them as soon as possible once they make it out of the womb, which they also try to prevent.
"How do you know all that wasn't done at the school the girl transferred to, and the girl just doesn't feel "petted" enough? "
I don't know...neither do you.
I guess I'm wondering why you find it so necessary to look down on this girl when you don't know the whole story.
"Yes, there are problems in this world, but there's a lot of reason for hope, too. There are people who aren't content to mock others from the sidelines."
Yes...it's one thing to point out everyone's faults - it's another to come up with constructive ideas, roll up the sleeves and get to work.
