LIVE THREAD: French Riots
April 4, 2006 | FR

Posted on 04/04/2006 10:33:28 AM PDT by Peach

Post your observations here.

Richard Miniter was on FNC and said that even if an employee is caught on videotape stealing from their employers, they cannot be fired.

Re: post #132

John posts "Semi-News" articles on FR. I would imagine this is one of his Semi-News articles.

The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay,
I heard the laughter of her heart in every street café

The last time I saw Paris, her trees were dressed for spring,
And lovers walked beneath those trees and birds found songs to sing.

I dodged the same old taxicabs that I had dodged for years.
The chorus of their squeaky horns was music to my ears.

The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay,
No matter how they change her, I'll remember her that way.

I'll think of happy hours, and people who shared them
Old women, selling flowers, in markets at dawn

Children who applauded, Punch and Judy in the park
And those who danced at night and kept our Paris bright

'til the town went dark.

Damn I have a moral dilemma.

I find myself rooting for the youth to beat up the protestors.

I think the protesting whiners irritate me more.

It's funny how these male protesters try to look so 'manly' when what they really want is cushy jobs for life.

Won't bother me if they burn the entire country to the ground, blow up that stinking iron tower, cut off the heads of the king and queen (oh, wait they have already done that), and blow up the arch.

Why should older workers receive extra protection?

They should not, but doing what you want would probably have a somewhat different result.

Instead of there being a million or so youth in the streets, you would have all of France in the streets.

There would be no law passed then, and the government would fall.

France has high unemployment partly because the law makes it difficult to get rid of employees, thus providing a disincentive to hire

they probably all are being driven into the arms of Le Pen. And I don't blame them.

The guy on Fox seemed to think that Le pen would be the worst outcome possible.
