Bush's approval ratings hit new low

President George W. Bush's approval rating fell to 32 percent, a new low for his presidency, a CNN poll showed on Monday.

The survey showed that 60 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job.

We do not set the price of labor. We have never asked any person to take less for a job they have agreed to do at their price. My husband and I have finished more than one job, such as finishing roofing when that YOUNG man took off half way thru and we did an excellent job and repaired his mistakes as well. Wages have only recently become the excuse for the Americans who will not work. Cut off welfare for able bodied workers and in a generation or so we may have a body of workers sufficient to fill this country's employment needs. As it is, with Mexicans working in the numbers they are, we still have around 5% unemployment.

I'll pay more too for goods picked by Americans but will there be enough American Workers at 4.7% unemployment to do the job even if it did pay $10 an hour?

President Bush has failed to address the illegal immigration issue with anything even approaching a firm hand. He seems resistent to closing the borders and absolutely opposed to kicking out those who are here illegally. I, for one, am really sick of hearing about jobs Americans won't do! What the heck are those jobs? Should we concluded that without illegal immigrants, we would never know what fruit is? never know what vegetables are? never know what a steak is? Come on! Stop the BS! Close the borders! Get those illegals out now!

Of course there'd be enough. Teenagers are a huge somewhat untapped labor market. Not only that but when it becomes economically feasible an electrical engineer and a mechanical engineer will decide to create an automatic tomato picker, and the costs will tumble.

There is no labor shortage, its just that large corporate farms refuse to pay livable wages. So they import illegal labor and make the tax payers cover the cost of housing, feeding, and health care for the illegals. That tomato costs more than you're paying at the market.

5+ years ago when we had our Dish Satellite system installed.

I had the installer block the CNN channel as part of his show and tell. He laughed and said a lot of customer were requesting that.

It is still blocked.

There is another solution. Have chain gangs, and price them lower than illegal labour.

This policy would accomplish several things - I recommend minor criminals such as those caught for shoplifting are put in these chain gangs: sweating and toiling in the sun would prevent recidivism. Secondly, illegal labour would be priced out of the market.

Finally, Bush should quietly build up border defences. Do it without fanfare, just make it happen.

Millions protesting send illegals back and millions hating Bush for being to easy on them. What I don't understand is why people hate him for opposite reasons.

I am always astonished that otherwise smart people accept the false premise that there is such a thing as a "presidential approval rating." No such thing exists. Such "ratings" are a fiction entirely made up by media and the pollsters they hire.

The accuracy and honesty of such polls can never be objectively demonstrated, yet most people accept their premise as though it was gold.

Media-sponsored polls have one purpose -- one purpose only -- and that is to push an agenda. They are intended to create public opinion, not measure it.

You realize if you start weeding out RINO's that you'd probably have to sit Bush down and read him the riot act too, right? With the exception of defense and judges... he hasn't been real conservative.

And NO...it's NOT a single subject. But living in TEXAS...in Southeast Texas at that...and feeling like I am being overrun...that issue is a big issue to me...but it's not the only one I differ with the president on.

So...don't lecture me about the conservative movement and the GOP when the leader of the GOP isn't all that conservative. I voted for him...4 times (not including primaries). All I want is to get the conservatives back in power...and that INCLUDES the white house. The liberals felt Clinton was too conservative for them...and I am kinda feeling Bush is acting too liberal for me.

Go figure.

In my opinion Bush is knocking on conservatives not the other way around.
