The Role Of The Hidden Imam In The History And Politics Of Iran
Persian Journal ^ | May 13, 2006 | Bahman Aghai Diba, Phd.

Posted on 05/15/2006 9:39:14 AM PDT by gandalftb

The notion of the Hidden Imam has gained a new weight. Ahmadinejad’s letter to President Bush was not based on the political considerations, Ahmadinejad thinks he has a divine duty from the Hidden Imam take certain measures. The Hidden Imam was born in 868 AD, named Abu'l-Kasim Muhammad. When the Eleventh Imam died, the seven year old boy declared himself to be the Twelfth Imam, Muhammad al-Mahdi. God hid him from the eyes of men to preserve his life. The Hidden Imam entered the period of Greater Occultation, in which the Imam is the spiritual guide and light of the world. In 941 AD, a letter from the Imam stated he would not be seen until he reappeared as champion of the faithful in the events leading to the Judgment Day.

Much miraculous is associated with al Mahdi: speaking from the womb, full grown by age 6, raised by birds and with the ability to appear and disappear at will.

The signs of the appearance of Mahdi : "invasion by Evil, people will neglect prayer, legalize untruths, practice usury, accept bribes, construct huge edifices, sell religion, employ idiots, consult with women, break family ties, obey passion and consider insignificant the letting of blood. Princesses will be debauched, ministers will be oppressors, intellectuals will be traitors, and the reader of the Koran vicious. False witness and immorality proclaimed in loud voices. A word of promise will be slander, sin and exaggeration.

The sacred Books will be ornate, criminals praised, women will involve themselves in the business of their husbands. The most ignoble will become leaders, liars will be considered truthful and the traitor as trustworthy. They will resort to singers and musical instruments. Women will ride horses, they will resemble men and the men will resemble women.

"It wouldn't surprise me if the Mossad is running Ahmadinejad in order to destabilize the real power in Iran, ie. the mullahs. Time will tell, and sooner than later."

Wow, talk about conspiracy theories! Are you formerly from the DUmp?

One wonders if the West will wake up before it's too late.

One wonders if the plain people of Iran will wake up before it's too late.

So if I understand this correctly, the Twelfth Imam will return when the Democrats announce their 2006 agenda?

What tipped you off?... The "empoy idiots" thing?

Just like Elvis and Hitler, the twelfth Imam is currently hiding in France.

If it said employ "useful idiots" it would be a sure thing.

Actually the next paragraph pegs the Dems exactly: "The most ignoble will become leaders, liars will be considered truthful and the traitor as trustworthy." Has Clinton and Kerry written all over it.

Naah, maybe some wishful thinking on my part. It just seems to me that this guy is so far out there that it just may be possible. Let's put it this way: if any foreign intelligence agency is running him, it sure as hell is not the CIA!

And, by the way, if Ahmadinejad is the real deal, then we should do a Curtis LeMay on his sorry ass. Unfortunately, GWB is paralyzed by the 'Rats and the MSM because of Iraq, and has lost support of his base because of the immigration issue, so it probably won't happen any time soon. Let's hope his speech tonight helps lift some of that paralysis, at least from our side. Unless my wacked-out conspiracy theory is correct, Ahmadinejad is a clear and present danger and must be dealt with ASAP.

And throughout all these centuries nobody ever figured this sucker was hiding down a well?

What's that Lassie? The 12th Imam fell down the well?

That was just too rich not to run again.
Thanks for a well-needed moment of levity in dealing with this
nutcase leader and his followers.

So here's what our United States President should do. Compose a letter (as our reply to Ahmadinejad) and then have an official representative, hmmm, somebody like Barney Frank would be good, deliver it to the well where the 12th Imam disappeared. Then he should get back on the plane and leave Iran....

After two weeks, we announce to the world the contents of the letter...

Prize for the best FREEPER letter!

(My entry)

Dear Sir:

Please come out of the well. I know it's been a long time and well, really, things are not that much better than when you disappeared. But, if you don't come out, we're going to bomb the crap out of this country.

If we don't hear from you in the next couple of days, we will consider that our actions are with your approval.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

You know, I suspect there were a lot of such flippant comments as I see on threads such as this that were thrown around during the 1930's when Hitler was making all his speeches. After all it was just Germany and we had just kicked their butts two decades previously and they had just gone through a terrible depression, what possible threat could a lunatic like Hitler ever become?

I hope and pray that history does not teach us another costly lesson, because in this instance nuclear weapons may play a role, GOD forbid. - OB1

This religious cult (The Hojjatiah) was actually banned by no less than the Ayatollah Khomenei himself. They went underground and infiltrated the Revolutionary Guards, Iran's version of the SS.

Once established, they decided to push Khamenei and the reformists out of power. They selected Ahmadi Nejad who was the mayor of Tehran and a long-time RG. Through a rigged election, Ahmadi Nejad wins and Khamenei and his followers are now attacked and discredited.

The parallels to Nazi Germany are obvious and history is repeating itself now. There are far more people in Iran and many Shia (most of the Palestinians, Iraqis and hizb' Allah) will gladly "martyr" themselves at the least hint the 12th Imam is coming.

The threat to Iraq and Israel is profound and immediate. Fortunately the Shia are not well traveled internationally. Look for an attack next year.
