PRISTINA, Serbia (Reuters) - Serbia must drop its "negative" influence on Serbs in Kosovo and tell them to re-engage with the ethnic Albanian majority, the major powers said on Thursday, as a decision nears on the province's fate.

The 17,000-strong NATO peace force plans to reopen an old base in the north to bolster mobile units, reflecting growing concern that Serb resistance there could escalate into a unilateral bid to partition the province.

In the old Yugoslavia, the thing that the Slovenes bitched aboout and eventually used as a reason to leave, was that "too much of it's income was going to Belgrade". Ironically, most that money going to Belgrade from Slovenia was for Kosovo. The Slovenes knew that it was for Kosovo to support Albanians having litters, but the Slovenes were smart enough to not to blame the Albanians for it, because blaming "the central government" sounded so much better for its purposes -- and it also gave the Albanians fodder for leaving too!
Just finished another book -- "Fool's Crusade", by Diana Johnstone. It's about Yugoslavia as a test-case for economic globalism backed by the military. It's an excellent book -- but very disturbing if all she is saying comes true. It was certainly true re the break-up (destruction) of Yugoslavia. If she is right, Bush wouldn't bomb the Albanians no matter what they have done or will do.

***That has been one of the problems since the beginning in 1999 to present. They have tried, but the UN has very skillfully circumvented any effort in order for it to justify it's deployment in Kosovo. The UN has close links with Albanian Mafia clan leaders taking UN money and percentages....from false housing funds, projects, programs that don't exist, and allowing the Albanian extremist to murder Serbs and not get caught or released after a period of time........IF caught. A very well planned agenda.

PRIŠTINA -- Soeren Jessen Petersen has resigned as UNMIK Chief due to personal reasons.
“After almost two years of this job, the time has come for me to join my family in Washington.” said the Kosovo Governor.
He added that he is aware that he is leaving at a very crucial time in the history of Kosovo, but is convinced that the political process leading towards a status solution is unfolding well.
“When I arrived in Kosovo, I stressed that I believed that there would be no normalisation or stabilisation in the western Balkans until a solution for Kosovo is found. It is the last piece of the puzzle which will carry the region from the conflicts of the 1990s towards a prosperous future.” Petersen said.
Final Solution for the Serbs.
Tell that to A. Pole who always tries to redirect criticism of the UN onto NATO solely, and believes the UN has no hand in the conditions of Kosovo Serbs.
The thread got away from the point of the story. The "Major Powers" and dictating foreign political thought.
