BAGHDAD, Iraq, June 20 — The American military said today that it had found the remains of what appears to be the two American soldiers captured by insurgents last week in an ambush south of the capital, and a senior Iraqi military official said the two men had been "brutally tortured."

SNIP

Maj. Gen. Abdul Azziz Mohammed Jassim, the chief of operations of the Ministry of Defense, said that he had seen an official report and that he could confirm the two Americans had been "killed in a very brutal way and tortured."

"There were traces of torture on their bodies, very clear traces," General Jassim said. "It was a brutal torture. The torture was something unnatural."

No, not animals. Animals don't torture. These people are throwbacks to a barbaric middle ages. Their minds are unfathomable to a civilized person. I pray that God will comfort the families of these brave men and bring them peace and strength to endure this trial.

Without going into detail, General Caldwell said it was clear that the two men had been killed in a violent way. And he said that the men had died from wounds received during the initial battle with the guerrillas. "Due to the condition of their bodies, we do not believe it was by natural cause of death," he said. "It did not appear that they had been mortally wounded and moved to a location and died."

Don't these two statements(in bold) appear to contradict one another? Were they killed as a result of the initial battle or as a result of torture after. He seems to be saying both. Anyone else understand?

And we're the bad guys because we put panties on someone's head, and had a dog bark at someone's face or didn't let someone go to the toilet. The MSM and the left wing moonbats make me so damn sick! Bush ought to enforce the Alien and Sedition Acts, retroactively to 9/11.......

Were I a relative of one of these honored dead, and Michael Berg opened his mewling yap anywhere near me, I'd be hiring a jury consultant right about now.

These men are true martyrs to the cause of freedom: men who gave their lives so that others - unlinked to them by blood or religion or nationality - might enjoy peace and liberty and prosperity.

They gave all.

Let's not cut and run on them now, as so many cowards would suggest.

If I had a son (or daughter) in the military, I don't think I could sleep.

I was skimming another site when a poster causually described the types of tortures common in Iraq. No need to repeat. Suffice to say that it is "unnatural."

May God comfort their families.

I understood that as a kind statement on the part of the general. (Not misinformation or anything like that!) Just being kind.

There are witnesses showing them being kidnapped.

And we have McCain and Graham talking months ago about how our soldiers "tortured" jihadists at Abu Graib.

Has anyone ever heard of torture at Abu Graib? Real torture? Ever? Once?

Because I haven't. I've heard of humiliation. Playing loud music, fake electrode wires to scare the jihadists, snapping dogs that didn't actually bite anyone, and draping the detainees in an Israeli flag.

Is ANY of that torture? Absolutely not. It's gotten to the point that thanks to McCain and Graham, we can't even use light deprivation on detainees.
