Since this launch is just after sunset, weather permitting and no scubs, it will be visable over a wide area, best views of powered stage of launch, Southern Nevada, Arizona, southeastern California.
Cheer the Delta IV on! her first west coast flight with a secret payload that are the eyes and ears of our nations defense in the high frontier. Another bird to watch the bad guys.

Was it hot where you were today? WeatherUnderground says it hit 100 here in Chula Vista.

T-minus 5 minutes and holding. The countdown has entered a planned 15-minute hold. This pause is designed to give the launch team the opportunity to catch up on any work running behind schedule and verify all is in readiness for the final moments of the count. A series of management polls will be conducted during the hold to give approval to proceed with the launch.
Obviously, the winds at Space Launch Complex 6 will be the hot topic of discussion during this hold.

Current conditions per Weather Underground
Wind Speed: 0 mph / 0 km/h
Wind Dir: 0° (North)
Ceiling: Unlimited
Looks good but this reading is probably from the housing area while the launch complex is on the shore.

Thanks for the heads up...have the webcast minimized now and ready to bring up.
When we lived in Newhall, we saw several fantastic colorful light shows from those dusk launches....now'll be our chance to see if we can catch a glimpse from the Coachella Valley (doubtful!)
