Court rules president overstepped his authority in trying terrorists held at Gitmo... more...
So, what happens now?
There you have it...
1. President had no authority to set-up military commissions without Congressional approval.
2. May have violated Geneva Convention
3. SCOTUS has authority to rule on this case
Important to wait for details . . . MSM reported Texas redistricting decision the other day as win for Dems at first . . . turned out to be the opposite . . .
I suspect that it really isn't over. After all there are two choices that we simply aren't going to do. We can release them or we can drag them up here for endless trials.
If the TERRORISTS kill our troops after they have been captured, then maybe we should stop offering any quarter to them.
Why are irregulars who are not signatories to the Conventions even covered by them?
Fine. Bush should order them stood against the wall and executed.
One of the items cited int he dicision was the Geneva Convention. Since when does the Geneva Convention apply in this case?
The SCOTUS is as liberal as ever (at least in relation to the WOT).
