LONDON (Reuters) - Members of London's Muslim community grieved for the victims of the July 7 bombings on Friday, but one Islamic leader also hit out at Prime Minister Tony Blair, calling him "insensitive and ill-informed".

Speaking at the East London Islamic Centre, Kumrul Hassan, the uncle of Shahara Islam who was killed in the bus bombings at Tavistock Square, said he hoped Britons would "not see such terrible acts committed in our country ever again".

"Our religion, Islam, stands for peace, a fact that is known by all ordinary Muslims, and which is regularly preached in the sermons by our imams," he told reporters.

Heard some snivelling muslims demanding that Blair do an investigation to find the root causes of such 'criminal' acts.....which could have been committed by anyone. (his words)

True enough. I felt at the time that had Rome attempted to mitigate the situation, the IRA would have said, "Pug Ma-hone" and continued to do as they pleased.

Exactly. It was definitely "politics", as opposed to "in the name of the Pope, we demand we get our way (and we bomb you)"!

The IRA was bankrolled by everyone who went into a pub and dropped a dollar in the jar to support the "troubles". There's plenty of blame to go around without spreading nonsense about the Kennedys.

UK should close EVERY mosque in the country ,deport any and all those that preach muslim sedition , and require all immigrants within the last 25 years to pledge and sign an oath of alliegence to the Nation or leave the UK .
Of course they will do none of this and the anglo UK is
probably doomed to eventual overthrow by these insidious little usurpers that the UK has foolishly allowed to infest their society . America should not make the same mistake.

Good people died while US notes rang in the IRA tills, It wasn't the only source but it was vital. You know who held fund-raising diners - I don't have to tell you.

That was our own war on terror and the USA liberals didn't help. 9/11 sobered them up a bit in regards to IRAland.

I picked up Canada's National Post today and over an ice cold imported American beer- Genessee, I thought this was worth informing posters.

Joseph Brean. London. Page A3.

"A US journalist has also publish a book claiming American authorities placed a man (Khan,a bomber) on a no- fly list". Loosely quoting further a Mr Mercer. He is a Conservative Member of Parliament, he said that this alerted British authorities to the fact of a terrorist in Britain's midst. Now get this. He alleges the government officials used "weasel wording" to absolutely wipe out any alarm bells.

A new word used (to me) it was, "casuistry" of the worst possible sort. quoth this good man. It means using standards and technicalities to deliberately, ignore an original intent.

The British police had a tracking bug in Khan's car previously, because of this information. I wonder what subversive,or do good swine, obscured America's information, to put a man on a no-fly list?

They were warned.

I find it quite sad to be honest that we have some perfectly reasonable sentiments being expressed by a man on the anniversary of his niece being blown to bits by terrorists and some posters here just want to have a cheap shot at him

You may find it sad however I've become tone death when I hear muslims harping about the peaceful nature of islam. I find it particularly ironic when it's coming from one who lost a relative to an islamic terrorist bomber. I see that as just further evidence of their insanity.

"Cheap shot?" Hardly.

1) Mr. Hassan expressed the usual platitudes about how terrible this was, implying that this was some sort of natural disaster. Although, I suppose you could categorize the explosions as Acts of Allah.

2) Mr. Hassan expressed zero anger at the Muslim individuals who murdered his niece. When was the last time you heard any public condemnation by supposed Islamic representatives on the latest act of terrorism? This is hypocrisy at its most despicable level. Muslims are a perpetual hair-trigger grievance society; they'll bitch and moan about all sorts of imaginary slights against their thin-skinned religion where us "infidels" are concerned, but they're always suspiciously silent towards their Muslim "brothers".

3) Mr. Hassan deserves sympathy for his loss, but talk is cheap. Until I see his platitudes are backed up with action in his community, I reserve the right to my distrust. All I hear 24x7x365 is how Muslims refuse to assimilate to their host countries, how they refuse to notify authorities of the presence of the hyper-radical elements operating out of mosques, how w'ere the ones who have to change our Western societies to their demands, and how we're always the ones who are intolerant, hateful, blah blah blah when we don't.

So, if that's a cheap shot by your definition, so be it. I won't lose any sleep tonight worrying about it.

Mmmm....interesting. We do know that the USA alerted us to that bomber and that he was on the periphery of our radar. There is little doubt that we faulted. Perhaps that is why Blair refuses point bland a public inquiry. that would sink the government which is beleaguered on many fronts a the moment.

Thanks! I shall look into this. That beer sounds good - heatwave over her in Blighty
