Right-Wing Pundit's Work Under Scrutiny By HILLEL ITALIE, AP National Writer

(07-07) 19:17 PDT New York (AP) --

The syndicator of Ann Coulter's newspaper column is looking into allegations that the right-wing pundit has lifted material from other sources.

"We are reviewing the material and expect to have a response some time next week," Kathie Kerr, a spokeswoman for Universal Press Syndicate, told The Associated Press on Friday.

The New York Post and the Web sites Raw Story and the Rude Pundit have raised numerous questions about Coulter's columns, which appear in more than 100 newspapers, and her best-selling "Godless," already notorious for the author's calling four 9/11 widows, who supported Democrat John Kerry for president in 2004, "harpies" thriving on their husbands' demise.

Kerr said that the press syndicate had not discussed the allegations with Coulter, who was not immediately available for comment Friday. The publisher of "Godless," the Crown Publishing Group, issued a statement saying it had reviewed the "the allegations of plagiarism" in her book and "found them to be as trivial and meritless as they are irresponsible."

"As an experienced author and attorney, Ms. Coulter knows when attribution is appropriate, as underscored by the 19 pages and hundreds of endnotes contained in 'Godless,'" Crown's senior vice president and publisher, Steve Ross, said in the statement. [...]

Right. Ann is piloried by a statement that some find offensive. A Liberal can say anything and it is passed over (Sen. Byrd knows "white Ni**ers", Plugs Biden says you have to have an Indian accent to go into a 7-11, Jessie talks about Hymietown, etc.) but when Trent Lott jokingly says a former segregationist may have made a good president ergo Lott prefers segregation or Rush Limbaugh says Donavan McNabb is a media creation so he hates Blacks, then they must be cast into the Lake of Fire without any chance of redemption (even though their initial comments were innocently uttered, have many pure interpretations, etc.).
That's the way it is folks. Live with it BUT defend conservatives due to the unfairness of it all and don't pile on. Point out the double standard and hypocracy.

So... what's the problem? If Coulter copies someone else's work, it's a rather simple matter to produce the passages that were copied and reference them, yet the Leftist swine have yet to do even that much.

No. They keep spewing about it, but they've yet to actually produce proof of anything.

Stubborn aren't you?

;-)

In a few years you will figure it out.

Ann's going to take heat that she needn't have taken. It will take its toll on her psyche and energy level. She should have left off the last sentence. If you can't see that, I am somewhat amazed.

Have you even read the paragaphs in question?

Right. Liberals have convinced thenselves that "everyone does it" when it comes to plagarism (e.g. Doris Kearns Goodwin, Joe Biden) to they have been combing over Ann's work with aide of special software to "prove" she did too. Just an attempt to discredit her. They wont debate the points, just try to slay the messenger. So far Michelle Malkin is destroying them with impunity (except Chris Matthews spitting all over her) and they don't know what to do with her. I mean the fact that she is a diminutive Filipino-American and graduated Oberlin sort of puts her in categories they don't want to mess with. If they start getting brave, she can throw on a garlic necklace.

Ann's statements about the NJ girls will only benefit her with more publicity. She gives libs a dose of their own medicine and they can't stand it.

You see things in the short run.

Ann's statement that these NJ women are enjoying the deaths of their husbands is nothing more than satire.

You may think that and it may be true that it was satire, but that sentence will be used to ruin her. Watch! It was really foolish, tasteless, and needless to add that sentence to her argument.

Crictics (critics) of Ann apparently do not understand that satire is the art of making a joke by exaggerating the truth.

Some of them understand. If you think that was a joke I do wonder who brought you up (no malice intended).

Ann is particularly funny because she uses satire so well.

Ann is funny .......... and quite angry.

The best way to annoy a liberal is to make fun of them

If annoying people rather than also communicating with them is your purpose in life, then there is nothing to say to you.

You can do what my husband did. Back when Rush had "See I told you so" as a bestseller, he had some lib friends come visit. He made a shrine (2 lit candles, the book and a Time magazone cover with him on the cover.). Sent them into orbit.

LOL

I'll agree and disagree with you at the same time. I think the 9-11 Widders needed a comeuppance, but Ann could have worded it a bit more gracefully.

Yet at the same time, she's trying to sell her book. What better way to sell a few copies than to get Her Heinousness to denounce it? Ann's a bomb-thrower, and this one has the left in a snippy mood... ;^)

BTW: is it me, or has no liberal come forward to actually challenge her on what she's actually saying?

Smokescreen for Doris Kearns Goodwin, Joe Biden et al. BTW--why is it the liberal hacks seem to do quite nicely with few ramifications plagerism or not.

They keep trying for "legacy." It's there. Failure. All over the place.........................

As history will ultimately record. Hopefully there will not be too many lives lost along the way.

"Some of her newspaper articles are dynamite though."

Imagine a whole book as good as one of her "dynamite articles." Her new book is just that. She has done an amazing job of showing the history and hypocrisy of the left on a number of current issues. I guarantee you it will get your blood boiling and your patriotism running at fever pitch.

All the Coulter haters want is to put the charge out there and doesn't matter if it's true or not, just get it out there in the media so people can think Ann is a plaigerist to discount her work.

"M Pretty much follow a repetative pattern of listing how Rats are crazy, liars, hate the US, etc etc"

Nonsense

"Somewhat tiresome and depressing as we already know that and I really don't want to be reminded of that"

What's depressing about talking about how much the RATS hate America and what great liars they are, unless you are a RAT yourself of course?
We talk about how RATS hate America at FR all the time.
Cheers me up every day to trash these suckers.

"For years, Ann's always going to have more trouble than she needed to incur from that one real stupid sentence (I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much)."

You wish.
Not gonna happen.
Ann is more popular then ever amongst conservatives.
The loony left don't count.

Ann revels in the left's lame attempts to discredit her. The more they hate her, the more she likes it. The more they try to debunk her work, the more she is in the public eye. A public cat fight between the liberal intelligencia and Ann is not a fair fight. She has them in knots.

"However, she's lost something in more recent times"

In "Godless", Ann is as sharp, witty, logical, and great as ever, if not more so.
You must be reading a different book.

"Ha! The liberals behind this BS determined that she "cribbed" from HER OWN COLUMNS (which is what columnists do when they write a book) and a Planned Parenthood website she was quoting to prove a point"

The looony left in America is still smarting like crazy, because Ann called them out and hammered them on their favorite campaign tactic of using tragedy victims to attack Republicans without Republican being able top attack back, and so far all the pathetic attempts of the loony left to attack Ann have gone exactly nowhere.
She is if anything, stronger amongst conservatives, than she was before

"All I'm saying is that she's going to pay for that sentence for a very long time in ways that she will not appreciate. "

"pay for it" with who?
You?

" She's already beginning to absorb it now with this plagiarism claim"

Saw her on TV earlier in the week, she hasn't looked better and more confident and relaxed.
And she now has even more millions in the bank, and even stronger support amongst conservatives.
You and your loony left pals are irrelevant.
Get it?

"But she hasn't seen anything yet."

Will you excuse me while I laugh? What are you and your KOSsack pals going to do? Hold another moronic "convention" in Vegas with Ann as your # 1 topic?

"You have missed my sentiments, but that is no surprise."

You don't have a point.
It's no surprise your "point" was missed, since it doesn't even exist.
