Posted on 07/11/2006 9:51:40 PM PDT by The Spirit Of Allegiance
Jim Robinson and a bunch of FReepers are going Saturday July 22 to the Ronald Reagan Library and Museum in Simi Valley -- Come join us! There is a LOT to see, so if you can, arrive between 10 and noon for a head start. Jim & Crew will probably arrive about noon and we'll have lunch, then most of us will tour as a group in the afternoon.
At NOON, find the tables near the Berlin Wall display--there are tables where we can picnic. Bring Your Own--or bring enough to share! There is covered seating for 100, 1st come 1st served.
Make a crazy FR Badge or nametag! Bring cameras! Bring sunscreen and water. And...you might bring some American flags and signs in case we find a FReeping opportunity, ya never know....
Dinner will be off-site, location to be announced later.
"RSVP" by bumping this thread!
CARPOOLS, ANYONE?
We've got people coming from Fresno, San Diego, the Inland Empire, Los Angeles---so if you want to carpool from one of these main areas, mention the general area you are coming from and your interest in carpooling, then work out the details by FREEPMAILing.
HELP STAMP OUT FREEPATHONS!
If you haven't contributed to the Fund to Fight Freepathons, click this link before RSVPing. Or after RSVPing. Or both!

Re the overflow parking at Madera and Country Club West, shuttles run between there and the Library, so it looks to be pretty convenient. The gates are closed when I go by at 7:30, but I think they open around 10:00 during the summer.

...[FReeper]fly-in...What an idea!!!
Our flying clubs' A/C, unfortunately, is scheduled down for an annual. However, if another AV-FReeper could use an SEL-licensed 'right-seater' or (ugh!) pax, I'd be willing to share (reasonable) expenses (FAA regs do permit this).
Looks like VNY would be the closest field...
If not, ya'll have fun; hope to make that very flight in the Fall.

Perfect. This is the chance that I missed during the week of Reagan's funeral. I will plan to be there, Simi Valley is not far of a drive for me. I look forward to seeing as many FReepers there as possible. Should be HUGH!

We can't be there either. We'd drive down, but we are coming down
this weekend for a wedding in Palos Verdes.
Oh well, I'll miss all of you guys, especially you DL!

Thank you, pbear. How very kind.
Wasn't that sweet, sitting on rabid dog's deck, listening to band music all afternoon? A once-in-a-lifetime day that was.
