SEATTLE – At least two people have been shot at the Jewish Federation at 2031 Third Ave. in downtown Seattle. One or two people have been taken into custody but it's not known if they are suspects.
One person was reportedly shot in the abdomen and another in the arm. They are being taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Part of Third Avenue and Second Avenue have been closed to traffic. Police are urging people to stay away from the area. It's not known if more suspects are at large but policemen were seen handcuffing one person and others were searching the area.
At least three people were seen emerging from the building, escorted by police. It's not know if they were hostages.
Medics, escorted by police, have been taking other people from the building.

SEATTLE - Police and SWAT teams are responding to reports of several shots fired at or near the Jewish Federation Center at 3rd and Virginia in Downtown Seattle.
The situation is still fluid and the suspect or suspects may not be in custody yet. Video from Air 4 showed at least one, perhaps two people in police custody, but there may still be more suspects.
We have heard unconfirmed reports that several people have been shot, but exact details are not known. One person was reportedly shot in the abdomen and another in the arm. They are being taken to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center.
The surrounding area has been blocked off and police ask that you please avoid the area.
The FBI did send out warnings two days ago to Jewish organizations to be on alert due to the recent events in the Middle East, but it is too early to know if these shootings are related in any way.

The story is too new (only broke about half an hour ago) - all I've heard is the Jewish Federation is on the 2000 block of 3rd Avenue - sort of the Denny Regrade area.
Yoni has "confirmed" two shot, but suspects more. Stay tuned.

The incident began around 4 p.m.
Part of Third Avenue and Second Avenue have been closed to traffic. Police are urging people to stay away from the area. It's not known if more suspects are at large but policemen were seen handcuffing one person and others were searching the area.
At least three people were seen emerging from the building, which has two or three stories, escorted by police. It's not known if they were hostages.
Medics, escorted by police, have been taking other people from the building. Police have kept other medics from entering the building. It's not known how many people are left in the building or if more people are injured.
Rich Pruitt of the Seattle Police Department said" "Right now we have our SWAT team searching the building."
He said the building is being searched room by room and closet by closet for more people.
One shooter is confirmed and in custody, he said. As of yet he said there is no motive. It's not yet known if the incident is politically motivated.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle says on its Web site that its mission is to "ensure Jewish survival and enhance the quality of Jewish life locally, in Israel and worldwide."

Sheesh. Watching the KING-5 live feed, the reporterette actually said the victims were rushed to the hospital in a "glorious display of lights."
Victims were three women.
Sinking feeling I might know a few of that organization - very rightty, Orthodox Jews.
