McClintock got 13% when he was ON THE BALLOT. His being in the race during the recall almost gave us Bustamante.

Now some so-called conservatives are aching to help Angelides elected. And don't tell me they don't some even admitted right here, with the excuse, than we can all be happy losers together, and won't that be grand.

" the Governor column will either be blank or go 3rd party"

In other words you want Angelides to be governor -- don't worry, all the propositions you will vote against, Angelides will have the Legislature pass and he'll sing it.

I feel sorry for conservatives in CA, but I would vote with my feet and leave.

That is precisely what my family and I are doing once our house in completed in Arizona.

After that, I'm going to work on getting RINO McVain replaced by a real Republican.

He's not getting my vote.

His latest brain-storm on global warming is straight out of the Democrat Undergound think tank.

Couple this with his conservency B.S. and the things you mentioned, he's simply not a Republican.

Those days are over Republicans. Accept it. Let the warmth flow over you...

Put up a conservative and I'll vote for them. Put up a Schwarzenegger and thank yourselves for who winds up getting elected, but don't blame me.

Hint: Besmirching conservatives isn't going to win you friends or Arnold votes.

I am NOT "besmirching conservatives" -- I am merely unmasking those who PRETEND to be conservatives, while helping Angelides get elected.

The Dems openly admit that their hope for getting Angelides elected, is exactly that conservatives stay home or vote third party.

We are left with either that conservatives are so incredibly stupid that they can't see that, or that some pretend to be conservatives and are actively doing what the Dems want.

I firmly believe that conservatives are NOT stupid. That's why most conservatives DO support Arnold.

Those who are constantly bashing Arnold, knowing that it helps Angelides, are NO conservatives.

This is just a very logical, irrefutable deduction

Here are some concrete examples of how the Dems are counting on conservatives staying home and try to influence them to do precisely that.

This very thread we are posting to:

" low conservative turnout will loom as a key peril for the governor and a prime source of hope for Democrats."

====

"Angelides ... must win 80% of the Dems and a solid majority of the DTS (declined to state) registrants, TO ACCOMPANY THE 15% REPUBLICANS WHO DON'T VOTE FOR THEIR PARTY'S TICKET"

ANGELIDES IS COUNTING ON THEM.

http://www.californiaprogressreport.com/2006/07/new_poll_result.html

=====

Angelides team bullish on California's blue state math (counting on CONSERVATIVES, to win)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1676818/posts

Angelides' camp believes that while the governor enjoys support among some Democrats now, by the time ballots are cast in November, the base will remain loyal.

They also believe that the opposite will occur with the Republicans because Schwarzenegger's recent move to the left on key issues such as immigration and the environment has alienated conservatives.

To pull off a win, Angelides must seize his opportunities

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1683377/posts

"But it will not be easy, and Angelides must take full advantage of the opportunities: ... the governor's sometimes tense relationship with conservatives; "

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1613957/posts?page=87#87

This effort targets grassroots conservatives known for their passionate views about issues who may be open to a grassroots voting rebellion. But the effort is being led, or at the very least aided, by liberals pretending to be grassroots conservatives, as opposed to actual grassroots conservatives themselves.

The premise follows a scheme previously found most often on talk radio programs: a liberal activist calls a conservative radio host, such as Rush Limbaugh or Laura Ingraham, and delivers the line: “I’ve been voting Republican for 30 years, but I’ve finally had it and I’m not voting this year.” Or my favorite: “I’m a Reagan Republican, but I’m fed up and voting for John Kerry.” (Because that is what Reagan Republicans would do, vote for John Kerry.) At this point, the host usually asks a couple of questions and it becomes painfully obvious that the supposed Reagan Republican has probably never voted for anyone left of Michael Dukakis.

The intentions are clear: the caller hopes to make it appear as though there is already a large uprising of conservatives who are rebelling against GOP candidates, and thus, wishes to incite other Republicans to pick up the same attitude and pass it along, leading to the Democrat becoming more competitive. The successes of such a strategy on voting habits are unclear, especially given that the conservative radio host often refutes the caller’s talking points.

But the pretend-conservative act is being carried onto a whole new playing field, one that has become wildly influential over the past few years and one that does not stand to be instantly recognized as a fake. That playing field is the blogosphere, which is then used in conjunction with massive e-mailings to “spread the word” (as one e-mailer insisted I do to my readers/e-mail list) to other conservatives.

The Republican Party had one chance to get my vote this year. That was an open primary, in which I could participate and elect a bonified conservative who could represent me this fall.

Arnold Schwarzenegger does NOT represent my interests. He represents the interests of Democrat Underground more than mine. I'm sick of supporting people who don't represent my views.

I voted for Schwarzenegger. I helped put him in office. I took a lot of heat on this forum to do it. Schwarzenegger himself proved me wrong. I will never vote for him again.

If it makes you feel good to say that I am not a conservative, I don't mind. I don't do things to win friends. I do what I think is best and allow the chips to fall where they will.

I'm not happy Angelides might get elected. At least in four years he'll be out. And you know what, in four years a party that has screwed my interests into the ground for the last fifteen years, will be on notice that if they run a leftist again, that their chances of winning will be zero to none.

People are fleeing this state in droves. How much longer do you want to put off the return to conservatism, until every white middle-class individual with a functioning brain cell left, is gone?

Go ahead, call me whatever you like. The real insult that I voted for Schwarzenegger the first time is five times worse.

I'll be voting for everything except the top of the ticket.

If this concerns you, copy my comments here and send them off to the RP leadership of California.

The last time they called my home I exlained to them in no uncertain terms that they no longer represented my household.

I told them that if they EVER wanted my vote again, they better pick up some literature on what a conservative is, and act accordingly.

Believe it or not, the caller actually agreed with most of what I said. The only thing they didn't agree with was my intention not to vote for Arnold again.

What does that tell you?

"I'm sick of supporting people who don't represent my views. "

===

Thanks for your long reply. No, I don't think that you are one of the Dem agitators. I think you are sincere, but you fall for their propaganda, which sounds good, but you need to look at the bottom line. There are only TWO choices -- not third door. If you are not helping Arnold get elected, you are helping Angelides.

Please stop and think -- does ANGELIDES represent your views?

You also need to consider that the REAL reason Arnold was not able to accomplish more, was because of the overwhelmingly Dem Legislature and the voters who abandoned the reform propositions, and didn't give him the tools needed for him to do the necessary reforms.

It is quite an accomplishment that he pushed through the workers comp bill, didn't raise taxes, vetoed the drivers licenses for illegals and the homosexual marriage bill.

And here is just another example of how far the Dem Legislature will go to keep Arnold from nominating reasonable judges:

Bill slashes number of new judges in half (CA)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1686081/posts

The prospect of 15 new judges in Inland courtrooms by July was thrown into limbo Thursday because of a disagreement between the Assembly's top Democrat and Gov. Schwarzenegger over judicial appointments.

Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, D-Los Angeles, reduced from 50 to 25 the number of new judgeships to be allocated statewide in a bill that passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

The dispute centers on complaints by Nunez and some other lawmakers that Schwarzenegger has failed to appoint enough non-white judges since taking office in fall 2003.

Besides halving the number of judges this year, Thursday's bill leaves unsettled how to allocate the additional judgeships in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

The change reflects a concern by some in the Democrat-controlled Legislature that Schwarzenegger will win re-election in November.

Democrats want to see how Schwarzenegger fills the first round of judgeships before giving him the 100 additional slots.

=====

Put the blame where it belongs, on the Dem Legislature -- do you want Angelides rubber stamp all their leftist liberal bills?

Arnold vetoed at least a third of them, if not more.

If you don't take my word, will you take Tom McClintock's?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1568122/posts?page=51#51

"Like many of us, I too have disagreements with some of the Governor's proposals. These differences, however, do not justify the abandonment of our party's responsibility to work tirelessly to reelect this Republican governor and to elect our GOP candidates to statewide and legislative offices.

For this reason, I view any effort to attack Governor Schwarzenegger as an attack on my own candidacy and those of every Republican seeking partisan office in 2006. "

His latest brain-storm on global warming is straight out of the Democrat Undergound think tank.

Actually, it's worse, because it is totally illegal per the US Constitution's Article I Section 10 proscription against the States laying duties or making any agreement with any extranational power.

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage (wattage being equivalent -CO), keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power (buying carbon credits from the World Bank -CO), or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.

I take it you regret having supported Arnold during the recall because what he has done has been far worse than what you believed he would do.

If you wish to believe I have been turned by the dark side, that's okay. If you wish to ignore that I know the difference between conservatism and liberalism, and choose instead to believe that I have been duped, I can't stop you.

You know what, I am so tired of the "you're helping a democrat" line. Seriously, is that honestly how you want to draw support for your candidate? Doesn't it grate you just a little to go this route?

Do I support Angelides? Does he represent me? Look, you and I know he's 3/4ths the way from the center to the absolute left end of the spectrum. Please explain to me what good it's going to do in the long run to vote in a person who is 50% from dead center to the absolute left end of the spectrum, again. Conservatism loses either way. What's really sad is it doesn't have to be this way. Conservatism is an easily supported ideology. It's policies have merit across the board, but by running candidates like Arnold Schwarzenegger, we insure that NOBODY will EVER champion conservative values from the top of the ticket.

The judge thing is despicable. I don't support the legislature in that. I'm sure your next comment will address judges and what will happen if we don't protect our ability to appoint. Well, that's a good thought except for one thing. Schwarzenegger's staff is made up of democrats. Where is he going to get a list of wholesome judicial candidates, from that staff? Not likely...

I voted against every bond fund. I will continue to do so. I voted for every reasoned initiative. I voted against every unreasoned initiative.

No I don't look forward to Angelides rubber stamping the democrat's pipe dreams. I don't look forward to increased taxes. I don't look forward to judicial apointments from the left. I don't look foward to licenses for illegals.

Look, if we continue to run leftists against leftists, we will never crawl out of this swamp. At some point in time we're going to have to stand up for what we believe in, then take our lumps if that won't win at first. After the electorate watches the state decline, they will sooner or later begin to listen to the conservative message. When they do, and when our people get elected, and when our people govern from the right and stick to core values, they we expand to take the house away from the lefties.

If we don't, the state will remain a democrate majority state forever. I don't think that's what you want. I know it's not what I want.

Carry, I had hoped he would savor the chance and do better. In fact he has done about what I thought he would and I cannot support him in that.

He was given a chance to do the right thing. He couldn't pull it off. I withdraw my support.

Yes, he could be a lot worse. No, I am not going to continue to support leftists. Arnold is far too left for my liking and I'm not going to sell out conservatism long-term for the California RP.

The RP in California has simply ceased to exist. It doesn't publicize it core principles. It doesn't support people who believe in those core principles. It doesn't support core initiative issues. It's just plain worthless.

low conservative turnout will loom as a key peril for the governor and a prime source of hope for Democrats.

There was no, documented, low conservative turnout last November and there won't be any in November.

Last November, conservatives voted against, with good reason, many of the initiatives that our liberal governor supported.

This November, conservatives will again go to the polls to defeat the governor's liberal proposals, chiefly bond measures, and will not vote for the Austrian.

In the current political climate there is a high probability that there will more votes cast for Lt, Governor than for Governor. There is a chance that Senator McClintock, win or lose, will receive more total votes than either of the two, principal, gubernatorial candidates. McClintock received more votes than Schwarzenegger last June and he might again in November.

This is not about turnout. It's about political philosophy and its translation to junk legislation. This is about two candidates that are not well liked by large segments of their own, respective parties.

I think our governor supporting those 107 billion in new spending in those November bonds is much worse than a Log Cabin endorsement.
