Some of the questions are ridiculously loaded toward the right. The real shock is that *if* they really appeared in USA Today, how far the publication has moved to the left since then.
I failed... I am not a total conservative. I only got a 39.
I got a 33, but I answered several questions under duress because my answer wasn't there. For instance, neither term limits or public financing would help elections. Another example would be the reducing crime question, which had mandatory sentencing, gun control or both as options. There too many other options missing.
That said, I've always like Jack Kemp but have a sneaking suspicion I am more conservative than Bob Dole. There is also no doubt that Ronald Reagan is not 100% conservative, so I am pretty sure this quiz was put together by a Liberal.

I had a similar problem with several questions, probably why I only got a 37...

It was a stupid quiz, though. Black and white, no subtlety, club the quiz-taker over the head kinds of questions, slanted to make the conservative answers seem undesirable.
Don't worry...I got 33 also...I think that's a good score...it's good to be TOWARD one side, but not 100%.
I just realized I got a perfect score by getting on answer wrong, dang.
