Sounds like tonight is going to be a show that says, see what you're missing.

May WABC management die a slow and painful decline to the unemployment line...

I amazes me how little gratitude we have as a people of those of us living in the present.

Our attitude is that was yesterday what have you done for me today!

John Batchelor had always been a rub against the Conservatives.

He is moderate leaning left!

Yes he is a Hawk for Isreal and get it, but he lacks vision when it come to the US!

Each time JB goes off on our need to defend ourselve and side the the left "CUT & RUN which causes me a slow and painful night!

I bet if John had decent rating he would still be on the air!

He is certainly clear in his sentiments about Assad and Ahmedinejad and Hezbollah and Hamas. I also like the fact that he is an unabashed supporter of Israel. Reading some of the other posts it seems ABC is dropping him because of 'demographics'. He's on here from 10 PM till 1 AM. Demos - schmemos! Who do they think is listening at that time?

I remember when WMAL (an ABC Affiliate) sacked Michael Graham over the CAIR Complaints. Maybe this is a similar situation. We dont know.

Do you know anything about Mike McConnell aside from what is on the WABC web site? I guess he'll take Laura Ingraham's slot and they'll tape delay her show.

I just like the way he delivers drama into the news. Like it really means something.

poor demos? for an established show? Batchelor's format isn't going to be appreciated by a potential new listener from a 60 second demo.

what the deal now, the only hosts they want are the ones who spend 3 hours being told that they are "great americans" - 200 times a day.

Yes he did that very well too, blending news reports with the music and taking that as the lead-in to his segments. I am glad to have stumbled across his show.

Reading some of the other posts it seems ABC is dropping him because of 'demographics'.

Could be. Intelligent people that like an in depth analysis and good music generally don't fit with the products and services of those that advertise on WABC.

I can't get any of the Internet streams to work this week. Odd.

Boyce should realize his format is in trouble. Moving Laura to 10PM is the death knell for that show on WABC - her show is stale already, being replayed at that time. I know I will not listen to it anymore. WABC has no lock on the 6-8PM timeslot because Savage is on WOR.

I suspected his ratings in the desired demos was the reason.

He isn't being cashiered by WABC, rather by the parent "ABC News and Talk Network".

This is for-profit radio after all, not Airhead America.

I will miss the show as much as anyone. (...most of it anyway. Some of his topics were just snorers.)

In spite of feeling miserble on some nights, I miss John vast knowledge on certain subjects and he reminds me of radio years ago when folks would gather around to listen to a good story!

I hope that he will pop up again shortly in our local areas I can't promise to listen all the time especially during election time when JB leans toward the Dems.

It was sickening during the Kerry race "Yikes!"

if we got stuct with Kerry!
