OUST RINOS IN PRIMARIES, NOT GENERAL ELECTIONS
Sept. 05,2006 | Trooprally

Posted on 09/05/2006 3:27:29 PM PDT by trooprally

For all you loony couch conservatives, the General Election is not the time to sit home and cry over not having a choice.

If you sit home and the Rats gain the majority in either House, blame yourself. I know I will.

A Republican Rino is still better than a Rat. It gives the Republicans majority status. With that status, we control committees and keep the Rats from starting multitudes of witch-hunting investigations and impeachment procedures. Nothing may get done with or without the RINOs, but its better than having the Rats in control.

If you don't like the RINOs in your district, then the Primaries are the time to get rid of them. It also takes less effort to get rid of a RINO in the primaries. I know some Primaries are over, but a lot are coming up in September. If there is not a conservative to choose from in your District's Primary, than again, that is your fault.

So I don't get flamed too bad, let me say, I don't like RINOs and this thread is not to argue the "cons & cons" of a RINO. I'm just saying hold your nose and vote for your RINO in the General Election. The Republicans absolutely need to keep control of both Houses.

This crap about letting the Rats get control of a House to increase our chances of regaining control in '08 with true conservatives is foolish. Do you really thing the drive-by media will let the public know how bad the Rats are? Hell no.

So vote out your RINOs in the Primary, '06 or '08, or vote for them in the General Election. Don't take a step back and allow the Rats to gain a foot hold. It will be that much harder for conservative in '08. Besides, if you can get a true conservative elected in '08, then he/she has to win in the Primary any ways.

Flame On!!, but please be gentle.

[Mr] Trooprally

"I still think a do nothing RINO is better than an active cut-'n-run lib"
Keep voting for RINO's and you get RINO's.

The GOP needs to understand that if you screw over the people that brought you to the dance, you go home alone.

They need to learn how to be the minority opposition party in the role they know best, the minority party.

No, the world will not come to an end, if the GOP grows a set of balls and learns how to stall every effort by the Dims to destroy this country.

The Dims were able to stop the legislation of the Pubs maybe the Pubs can pick up some pointers.

That unfortunate. From what I’ve heard, it has been that way for a long time.

The corruptness had to start little by little. Time to turn it around, little by little. It’s hard work, but don’t give up or all is lost.

" ... I will vote for the conservatives in a race no matter of party."

I believe they are called 'blue dogs'. If your State has more Dem conservatives, than go for it, but in general, most Dems are just plain Rats. By electing conservative Pubs in other States, maybe good legislation can pass without being filibustered by the Dems.

There are still conservative Dems (Blue Dogs) in some Southern States. They are what keeps the Rats from doing too much damage to these United States.

To further explain my quote you used, that is for the General Election. In the Primaries is where we get rid of the RINOs so a good conservative can run against the Rats. But if for some God awful reason a RINO gets threw the Primaries, they are better than a Rat, excepting the Dem Blue Dogs.

And I agree with the rest of your post. And many others also agree, hence the lack of donations to the RNC.

And I think the Pubs are learning from the Rats filibustering. The Rats haven’t been able to do too much since being elected last November. Hopefully it will remain that way until the ‘08 elections. “Do no harm” is a good adage at this time.

Actually, it began under Bob ‘Tax Em!’ Taft’s incredibly screwed up administrationi.

Blue Dogs effectively side with the national rats however, in terms of organization of Congress, etc. Also the Dogs are screened out of the policy making circles of the national party.

Some Dems had to side with the Pubs to filibuster the Immigration Bill and Iraq Funding Bill. I don't have the Senate's vote list at the tip of my fingers to check how everyone voted.

Re the Dems organization of the Houses, that is one of my arguments for voting for RINOs in the General Election. The Pubs will have the majority.

But let me also reiterate, we need to get rid of the RINOs in the Primaries, and the sooner the better.

By your own logic, do you really think the media will let voters know bad the RINO is, and how good by comparison the conservative is, in the primary?

Put that way, you are hoisted on your own petard.

"By your own logic, do you really think the media will let voters know bad the RINO is, ..." - Well, YES. No matter what RINOs do, the media and Rats portray them as bad for America.

... and how good by comparison the conservative is, in the primary?" - Well, NO. No matter what conservatives do, the media and Rats portray them as bad for America.

Basically, if one has an "R" behind their name, they are considered the devil by the media and the Rats. RINOs only matter to conservatives.

Merriam-Webster, 1993 edition: "Petard", ... expulsion of intestinal gas ... to break wind ..., 1. a case containing an explosive to break down a door ... 2. a firework that explodes with a loud report

Am I supposed to be hoisted on my own fart? Please explain how 'hoisted' and 'petard' relate.

Hoisted on your own petard is a well known expression, and the meaning is that the explosion you intended for someone else lifts you up in the air as it goes off.

How does it feel?

I guess the phrase hasn't made it to the east coast yet. Must be the damn mountains. Learn something new every day.

Also, I haven't felt a thing. Must have been a soft landing. :-))

But staying home endangers conservative Republicans in other races. Just ask Tom McClintock who ran for Lieutenant Governor last year.

It’s time to challenge the powers that be!
It’s time for Primary Challenge!

This is the organization we built two years ago. The results were good then, they are better now. This year the local Republican committee is endorsing the Primary Challenge candidates to include me.
