The actor James Woods was the first guest on The Tonight Show tonight.
Leno let Woods do a touching homage to his brother who died recently
(Woods got sort of choked up).

BUT...
Then Woods held court for at least 5 minutes on 9-11.
And revealed some details of his reporting of what turned out to be some
of the 9-11 hijackers to authroities (he saw them acting oddly on a Boston
to LA flight).
We also find out his report was labeled "racial profiling" and dismissed by
the authorities.
Until 9-12-01.

I can't remember if he mentioned this in previous visits but he said that after he reported it, nobody acted upon it because it was considered racial profiling. He also said that two of the men he identified were on two separate 9/11 flights.

You comment on something crucial, yet I don't think it can ever be completely avoided.

It is difficult to carry out even well-prepared and well-rehearsed disaster response and recovery plans like robots when we are human. So I believe a large measure of chaos is simply inherent in the nature of a disaster.

And, yes, it is true that this excites the jihadists. Today was a celebatory day for them.

So, I watched the West Coast airing. They could never find someone that looked like Condi, so I guess the actress they found was ok.. They got the clothes ok.. . Their Dick Cheney rendition was absurd... It didn't even look like him...

All I can say is that the whole thing brought me to tears... one more time...

To be honest, with the recon plane the Chinese Communists had grabbed, who was the one to say it was now the age of terrorism, forget all the nation state threats. The answer is no one be cuase we were still untouched at home and the public couldn't be bothered by the worry. Politicians deal with the public interests, little more.

Yeah. It happens all the time. It's a CROCK OF CRUD!!! But it happens. VERY frustrating. Good people like that shouldn't be afraid of taking the initiative to save lives, because they're afraid their career will be ended forever. That's just not right. :( MAJOR flaw. I think Iraq and response time from actionable intelligence with Huseein's sons, and Zarkawi, indicate that problem has been well fixed.

And it's awesome of you making sure your kids grow up with a good understanding of things. Even the flaws. Some rules are mistakes and should be broken when they save lives. Like in the military. The military doesn't want people who blindly follow orders. Bad orders are ALWAYS to be questioned. The military wants THINKING people, enlisted and commissioned, who are able to identify a bad order, and, properly, question those orders, rather then just carry out a bad order, and then pay the price. Many a crime has been committed by the guy who later said "I was just following orders". ANYONE in the military is OBLIGATED to disobey a clearly unjust order. That's what seperates the U.S. military from the militaries belonging to despots and dictators. Thank God. The stupid kids at AbuGraib wouldn't have gone to the Stockade if they'd of said, "this is wrong. I'm not here to do this". It wasn't torture, but it was stupid and they should have known better. Okay off my soap box now. :)
