there is a second NIE just on Iraq!!!! Rat Jane Harmon is trying to get that one released.
Norah and Chrissy were almost frothing at the mouth they were so excited.
I guess since this NIE is not what they wanted, they will now be on the lookout for a new one. Funny how they move on when the facts are presented to them.
Whats an NIE?
NIE = National Intelligence Estimate. An NIE reflects the considered opinion of the Intelligence Community (about 16 different agencies) on a given topic.

I'm poking fun at the news media. Remember how the Bush National Guard memo, demonstrated to be a fake, was supposedly obtained from a mysterious woman in a bar? And the repeated claims that Rove's indictment was imminent?
WHomever was reporting about it on CNN tonight said the second NIE wasn't even finished, and would not be complete for several months.
In fact, they noted, it was just started in July or August.
I was talking to a liberal friend at work, who admitted to me that the current NIE was probably leaked by his side of the political fence, and wouldn't amount to...as he deemed it..."A cup of warm pee."
I heard somewhere today that these routine reports are done regularly.
Harmon is talking about one that started in July, and will take months to complete.
Of course the one released today was done last April.
I've been waiting years to use that one.
With all due respect, these NIEs have zero credibilty.
They're written by the same guys that said Iraq had WMDs, that Pakistan is 5-10 years away from a nuclear bomb, that were caught flatfooted on Iranian and North Lorean Ballistic Missile testing, that have been unable to find Osama Bin Laden or Ayman al-Zawahiri for 10+ years, that had no clue about the attack on 9/11, the 1st WTC, the African Embassies, the Cole, the Khobar Towers, etc...
The key word here is ESTIMATE
Basically, it's all just a play it safe guesswork

After spending a couple of years and who knows how many hundreds of hours on the subject, Crissy couldn't get the desired effect he was in search of. Crissy then dutifully followed the Lib Playbook and tossed the entire story down the memory hole.
