From what I can gather, Kerry botched a joke. That's what he said, and I take him at his word. He served in combat. Last time I checked, the president and the vice president did not.
Maybe I didn't study hard enough, but I'm having trouble understanding why serving in combat makes one qualified to botch a joke.

I live in Pennsylvania, and the fools in question reside en masse mainly in Pittsburg, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg. The rural part of the Commonwealth is overwhelmingly Conservative, but the sheer numbers in the cities leave the overall political landscape always hanging in the balance.
