The Rats will refuse to fund the Iraq war (just like they did in Vietnam) and our men and women will have died for nothing, the jihadist will laugh and just which allies will trust us ever again?

Nope. President Bush will intervene and talk directly to the American people. Refusing to fund the war will hasten their demise in 2008.

You talking about Maryland?? That didn't make sense to me either. The numbers don't match.

Frankly, I'm tired of you all whining about the GOP.

See how well you like the DNC giving you all the things you're demanded of Bush and the GOP.

When the media outlets were wrong before, I think the problem was that they were all trying to beat each other to make the various calls.

Glen is a bit flakey. But even so, It must look pretty bad for him to do this so early.

Watch for moderates and the center to dominate.

Definitely. The "true, holier than thou" conservatives won't like it, but it's what they brought us to when they pushed a few key issues I won't mention here for fear of disrupting the thread.

Ehrlich lost, apparently, even though he's double digits ahead of O'Smarmey. I feel ill.

A Democratic majority in the House and/or Senate should motivate President Bush to pull his veto pen out of his @ss, or wherever it's been for the last six years.

In an undisclosed location, of course. ;-)

At least one well-connected Republican — not Obi Wan — seems very confident about Allen finishing on top in Virginia. I see it as very very close.
They don't buy the CNN and ABC call on Cardin. The early numbers have Steele up, and they have a lot of absentees that won't get counted for a while. That's based entirely on exit polls, which are wrong.

Northup looks like a loss, and that might be a sign of a bad night.

I'm told that Michael Barone — the guy who was the first to say the exit polls were bad in 2004 —just said the exit polls gave the Democrats 6 to 8 points this year. Puts a lot of those Senate races into the neck-and-neck category.

The CNN call on Rhode Island is based on exit polls. Ignore the call, watch the actual numbers coming in tonight.

That's not to say Whitehouse won't win; just that it's likely to be close and they ought not rely on exit polls.

We came through in 2000 and 2004. Taft finished us this time.

Taft is an easy scapegoat, but I wouldn't put it totally on him.

My prediction for the next 2 years and 2008. Watch for moderates and the center to dominate.

Had the Republican party listened to most of America and truly addressed the issue of illegal immigration instead of sucking of to big business they would have cemented their majority status permanently.

There is still some time for them to take the hint and do so, but if something isn't done soon, the endless tide might be too overwhelming for us to overcome in 10-15 years from now, and in 20-25 years our country may well be unrecognizeable.

"Moderation" led to what you're seeing take place tonight.
