May the Lord forgive us for electing democrats.
Forgive us? He put them there. (Romans 13:1)
Lol I know, I was making a not so funny joke I guess

Nice point. If these people were offered an opportunity to live the rest of their lives in the Matrix, They would.

Hubby is in the oil business and I'm afraid you are right. I think the "price of oil" may be the only issue that would move the Democrats to defend our country. Isn't that sad?

It looks like J.D. Hayworth is going down in Arizona.

He should take over for Rush Limbaugh now.

I saw one race where Fox had the Dem checked as the winner but the Republican had more votes.
Caused me to raise an eyebrow.

Don't get too cocky. You simply got lucky on your 3rd try. You doom and gloomers blew it in 2002, blew it in 2004 and can be relied upon to blow it again in 2008. This time the cycle just happened to work out for you.

Considering how well Conservative ballot issues did aroiund the country simply amazing how many stupid Conservative 100%ers just cut off their political nose to spite their face today.

The Always Angry types just turned DC over to the Amnesty NOW crowd and fired the ONLY people fighting FOR their point of view on Immigration. Way to go. Talk about your Phyric Victories!

Way to go idiots. I will enjoy reminding you all for the next two years when you start squealing about what the Democrat Congress is doing to you, how you all spent 2005 and 2006 squealing about "winning by losing".

You political 100%er made your bed. I will enjoy making you lie in it.

George W. Bush had his moment in the sun,
With nary a veto from his pen.
We thought a revolution had begun -
but our dreams are coming to an end.

No child left behind,
A conservatism that is kind!
We were told.
But looking back on the last six years,
a wishy washy bill of goods we were sold.

So now the dream of smaller government is lost.
Sadly, generations to come will pay the cost.
Even if we wake up now, it may be too late -
to stop der Beast in 2008.

Too damn many I'm sure. But it will be nothing compared to what it will be in a few short years after the Dems monkey around with the immigration issue. Imagine "the swimmer" Kennedy on steroids--with McCain in tow!

I just wish we could punish Bush somehow for stabbing the conservatives in the back

A democratic House and possibly Senate? He's punished all right considering that he will have to deal with them for the next two years. Of course NOW the economy will turn around, flowers will bloom and the MSM is gonna pull out ALL the stops to get dems into the executive.

The GOP just got a serious black eye and losing the Senate (likely) is going to sting even worse.

BUT let's take heart. Reagan did some of this BEST work whil a lame duck IIRC.

Tomorrow or even later today we will begin with the "It was for the best" posts and articles.

I will begin.

This was for the best. Would have been better to have been a close-call wake up scare, but there are few out there who are true conservatives who don't think that the movement has lost its way a bit.

If the opposition weren't such looney wackos, it might be somewhat less scary, but better a mid-term wake-up and time reassess and refocus on core values than a Presidential landslide where the whole of Congress and White House are lost in a Machtergreifung of catastrophic proportions.

At least this way, the spending might come under control and gridlock ensues.

Of course, I am not really affected by the immigration issue, so that one is a pretty big bummer.

I think you are right. They are bound to turn all that vitriol into action. And by action, I mean anything that will hurt Christians, Israel, the oil business (oh hell, business in general), the middle class tax base, and hundreds of other causes and individuals.

The Dems have tasted blood and it is going to get just as "ugly" as anyone can imagine. If they institute their version of "immigration reform" conservatives may NEVER win another election. My hubby is already convinced it will never happen again "in his lifetime".

I thought Ginsburg was projected as the next to retire? If she retires now we may still get a conservative, but if she waits for 2 years, its anyone's guess. Right now, I can't even feel good about '08.
