Democrats Will Take Control of the Senate

Posted on 11/07/2006 10:21:07 PM PST by jern

Looking at the votes still to be counted in MO it is bad news for Talent. He still has half of St. Louis County still to go. MT and VA are toast. 51-49 Democrats

LOL - I would want to say that too, but presidents cannot take the ball and go home. W is lame-duck now, big time. I think he knows he staked everything from 9/11 until today on fighting terrorism the best way he believed. Until tonight it worked and he had faith in the American people that the support would be there. He is probably quite shaken tonight on a personal level but I believe he is strong inside and will still do what he thinks is right. Except now he has no allies (of any power) anywhere. Irony is he cut taxes, help the economy grow to record levels, deposed a dictator, freed two nations, eliminated thousands of terrorists from this world, and put 2 good judges on the court. I suppose he has a legacy coming to him but the present is bleak.

No they voted because they are tired of a perceived arrogant and corrupt party who failed to deliver anything they promised. This was not a vote for Dem's but a vote against the GOP. The average Joe is not a partisan, and when they smell corruption they vote it out, thats how we got power to begin with.

Technically you are incorrect as the most the (D)s can have is 49 seat.

Throw in the honest Socialist & Lieberman then you can get to 51.

The Missouri votes that have yet to be counted are all from the "government cheese" areas -- namely Kansas City and St. Louis proper. Talent is done.

The big thing for Missourians is to watch the Amendment 2 cloning issue.

Anyone know if they have or have not counted the overseas military ballots yet?

They will be either lost or declared ineligible because they didn't arrive in time.

Another matter is that Dem majorities in the House and Senate mostly likely mean an amnesty for illegal aliens will become reality.

Live to Fight another day. We're bloodied but not beaten. I honestly don't think that this is all that bad for us. Maybe we'll have to struggle again and fight an uphill battle, and remember what we stood for in the first place. Being in power for so long has made too many Republicans squishy where it counts.

Remember what Reagan accomplished. If we can focus our message, concentrate on the positive vision we have for America "The Shining City on the Hill", we will prevail. The Republican party as it stands right now (while better than the alternative) is merely a shadow of what it could be.

Rest up. 2008 is close.

Man, I can understand that. I am actually angry about the election results. I have been disappointed at times, but this time I am pissed. One poser said the American people have just grown tired, I disagree they are stupid.

Ditto.

The 1994 Revolution petered out. Now we need a new one in 2008.

Is that such a terrible situation?

I am sure many older republicans here have some bad memories. I was 22 when the scumbag clinton beat GHW Bush. The impact didn't seem so bad to me then. Now, with three wonderful kids, I am really worried about the future.
I cannot even find the words to express my sadness and rage. I could deal with the RINO's. At least they were not backed by shadow groups that hate America and God. Unlike this disgusting group we are now forced to deal with.

And I will never believe that we lost by such large numbers due just to the GOP missteps. The media orchestrated this mess. Their unbalanced reporting was the major culprit.

"I know you feel bad. The RINOs are all gone. We lost a good conservative, Santorum. What's left of the GOP is solidly conservative. "

ALLEN WAS A CONSERVATIVE DAMMIT!

This is terrible. Good judges will now face the Schumer nomination death penalty.

This is coming down to Allen in VA and its going to be ugly all over again. Anyone know if they have or have not counted the overseas military ballots yet?

I don't know if military ballots and/or absentee ballots have been counted in any race, never mind just the VA race. Howlin, do you know?
