I have lived all, not most, of my life in NYC or the immediate area. All my education from grade school on was in NYC. I was NYPD. I have likely spent more time in Harlem for various reasons than anyone here. I'm very clear on what harlem is and is not. I'm not a big fan of the place and whenever people ask my advice about investing in RE there I always answer that I wouldn't. Your blanket condemnation of any and everyone from there is wrong.

The message seems to be that "uncouth" is an antonym for "couth," but the converse is not entirely true - in that the familiar meaning of "uncouth" is not the one which is an antonym of the dictionary definition of "couth." Thus, the use of "couth" as a noun rather than an adjective, intending it as an antonym for the second meaning of "uncouth" when it is an antonym only for the first, is itself uncouth, and deliberately so.

Harlem has been changing for years. Since the murder rate has dropped whites have been moving north into Harlem to take advantage of lower housing prices.
