Teachers are to be warned that bullying prompted by Islamophobia is on the rise in schools across the country.
Schools minister Jim Knight will also remind teachers, at a conference, of new ways to deal with bullying through the internet and mobile phones.
This includes the right to ban mobile phones from school classrooms.
Chris Keates, head of the NASUWT teaching union hosting the conference in London, says: "Everyone must play their part in banishing bullying."
'Wrecking lives'
She added: "Every day children are tormented and abused by bullies with devastating and often lasting impact on their mental and physical well-being.
"Bullying wrecks lives and more most be done to raise awareness of its prejudiced nature."
Mr Knight said bullies of any kind should not be tolerated.
He added head teachers had the powers and support needed to prevent and tackle the problem but young people also had to contribute to the anti-bullying effort.
Back in March new guidance requiring schools to deal with faith-based bullying was issued by the Department for Education and Skills for the first time.
And in August the government set out new measures to help schools, parents and pupils tackle the issue of "cyber-bullying".
The Anti-Bullying Alliance has identified seven types of cyber-bullying, ranging from abusive text messages, e-mails and phone calls to bullying via internet chatrooms, social networking sites and instant messaging.
A recent study suggested up to one-fifth of pupils have experienced some form of cyber-bullying.
The NASUWT conference comes just before anti-bullying week, which will focus on the role of the bystander.
Pupils will be encouraged to speak out if they witness bullying in their school.
The Department for Education and Skills said new measures to stamp out the problem were likely to be unveiled during anti-bullying week.
Doesn't England do the separation of Church and State thing?
Ooops!! Guess that doesn't apply to Muslims in England anymore than it applies to Muslims in the States. Muslims and their beliefs, teachings, etc. are being given a pass in several US public school systems, e.g. California, Virginia, etc.
I'm sure they would be gracious and tolerant.
What bothers me is the lack of condemnation of terrorism by the mooselimbs. Instead you see glorification by the masses of mooselimbs for these terrorists.
After 9-11 you saw these subhumans dancing in streets in celebration. If Israel were to nuke Damascus, Tehran, Mecca etc. at this point I'd be dancing in the street.
And if the U.S.A. is hit with another serious terrorist attack I predict you will see many often innocent (if there is such a thing) mooselimbs here targeted.
And I wouldn't indict if I were called for a grand jury.
Why don't we just surrender to the Muslims and get this over with. It is going to be too depressing to listen to more whining about "faith-based cyber-bullying" while the Islamist Arseholes are hacking people's heads off.
DITTOES! That's my kind of talk ...
Islam is a cult; expunge it.
Your countrymen and women better make the Moslems so uncomfortable that they return to the hellholes they left before they turn Great Britain into a hellhole.
Good luck, Ivan. You'll need it, as will we!
I think the President needs to get with the programme on "integration, not multiculturalism".
Regards, Ivan
Very good point, I concur.
I will care about Muslims being picked on or otherwise after they stop jihad. Their "religion" teaches them to hate me simply for believing differently. They seek my death. They seek the deaths of my family, my country, my religion, etc.
They deserve as much sympathy as Nazis (NONE).
Bullying is what school's about, Charlie Brown.
"Wow...the Muslims have the 'victim' game down pat"
Absolutely. They also have the gay rights movement terminology down pat. It ain't Islamophobia because phobia is defined as an irrational fear and there is nothing irrational about fearing the Islamists. But by using the "phobic" term, they are accusing us of mental illness when we are suspicious of Islamists.
We considered it silly when the gay rights groups started using "homophobia" but look where it has gotten them today. The same tactic us being used by Muslims to not only impugn but also question the mental health of those who disagree with their religion.
The Muslims should receive the same accommodations offered other faiths and no more. They should be treated with the same suspicions and restrictions placed on other faiths who attempt to be politically active. To the extent Muslims can live their lifestyles integrated into our society, they should be able to do so. Otherwise they should either change their practices or go back to a Muslim country where they can live the lifestyle they choose.
Personally I have no animus against those who choose a different lifestyle. The Amish and Mennonites and others who live a separate lifestyle have been able to thrive in the United States because they obey the laws and because they don't impose their beliefs on others. They don't riot against computers, blow up electric plants or saboutage autos. That's where Muslims differ in their approach: they insist their host countries change for them, not the other way around and they are prepared to enforce it by violence. That is why non-Muslims are suspicious of Muslims and there is nothing irrational about it.
Boo hoo. How about the anguish that thousands suffered when a bunch of the new minority killed 3000 within minutes? Or the pain, disgust and fear felt when news arrives of another headchopping?
Kick these people out
"We cant have our future mass murderers picked on, now can
we!" Good point by rawcatslyentist. Another thing - in a few years they will be wailing "death to the west" and saying it was because they were picked on in school.
Boo freaking hoo!
It's reached the point where the dirty looks and muttered insults are now "worse" than the cold blooded murders of thousands.
I find myself wishing the Muslims who cry so incessantly about "backlash" from 9/11 and 7/7 should experience a real live pogrom and then they will know what "backlash" is all about.
Bring on the cat o'nine tails.
Awesome rant. You must have been over here to the Middle East before.
Somehow I care more about what Muslims are doing to non Muslims than what non Muslims are doing to Muslims.
Somehow I care more about what Muslims are doing to non Muslims than what non Muslims are doing to Muslims.
"Islamophobia?"
Where is there an irrational fear of Islam? Don't they kill everybody in their path and target area if they perceive there is a Jew within five miles of ground zero?
That reminds me on the rethorics I know from germany in 37 - certainly then it was about jews.
If I hear that the Moslem cult is a "Religion of Peace" one more time . . . .
