I wonder if this is a sop to John McCain? I wonder if W is helping set up McCain by appointing a kindred spirit for him?

You know what, I'm getting more than a little tired of things that look like turds and then having someone have to explain to me why it's really a bar of solid gold if we polish it a bit.

Whenever Bush does something completely stupid, it's a Rovian rope-a-dope or part of some grand under the surface plan to make something happen in the long term.

If it looks like a turd, smells like a turd, it's a turd, dammit, not a bar of gold!

Where did you get your voting stats? I heard that the hispanic vote went against the GOP last week, that Bush got 40% of the 6% Hispanic population eligible to vote in 2004 and it dropped to 35% this election. Everything I've read on the subject says they bring their voting patterns from Mexico with them and that is mostly socialist.

He's great for Paco and Jorge, illegally here from El Salvador. Not so good for Douglas and Trey born in the US looking for a decent paying labor job. Not so good for Mary and Ann, nurses in AZ working 60 hours per week providing free healthcare to Paco's pregnant wife and 3 kids. Not so good for the people who pay taxes and large medical insurance bills, or thier kids who won't be able to collect what they paid into Social Security because Mel Martinez gave it all away to Paco, Jorge and thier families.

I don't believe it. Fl just re-elected its Democrat Senator. Guess they have a GOP governor to appoint his successor, but this really doesn't make sense. I'd stick with MIchael Steele. Heard Sean say he's staying as Senator AND RNC Chair .. not a good plan going into a presidential election. Guess they're after the Hispanic vote.

Most of the people here have a problem with his surname.

Nice.
Good to see the name callers are getting a early start on 2008.
Nothing persuades someone to support your positions like calling them racists.

You and I may differ on this, but if it were possible for the Constitution Party to get on the ballot in Oklahoma, I would switch in a New York minute. I'm that fed up with the pubbies. Sorry I voted for them last week.

Harriet Miers comes to mind. It would be fun archiving all the pro-Harriet spin on FR before she got canned. Talk about barf inducing.

And the race baiting begins! Strange, isn't it, C0XERJ145,that we border enforcement posters have no problem with the name Robert Vasquez, Campos and Ramos and the many other hispanic named candidates that YOU hated so much but happened to disagree with because they didn't have the "let 'em all in" attitude.

Been saying that for a loooong time. People are so resistant to change.

Reagan, an ex-democrat, rescued the repubs from themselves once. Don't see anybody that could do that today.
