The Bush Administration has indicated it wants doctors, clinics, and hospitals to provide flu immunizations to illegal immigrants.

In an interview with KFOX-TV, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt was asked if the federal government has any safeguards to prevent illegal immigrants from catching the flu. Leavitt responded by saying doctors should give flu shots to "every person."..............

No there is another way, as a matter of fact we used it for years on arriving (legal)immigrants. Quarenteen, and deport the sick ones.

That only works after it's too late - after they have already been diagnosed and have spread the disease...

Screw flu shots, they haven't had any of the other vaccinations either. Should be proof on how much our government really cares. If they don't, then it might be wise that we do. Does anyone really wonder how we are having so much recurrence of basically extinct diseases in this country?

Great! Here in Colorado the military bases will not have the flu vaccine until the 12 of Dec 2006. Guess the vaccine is being held for the illegals. What vaccine is left after the illegals, will go to the military.

I don't worry about them bringing in the flu. Try these bugs TB a drug resistant type because they will not take the meds right it becomes super bug, Polio, Meningitis, Hepatitis, Chicken Pox, Small Pox, and other assorted bugs many of which we had nearly wiped out. I doubt you will find 1 in 10 illegals in public school with so much as a shot record. Bush is offering a glass of water to put out a grease fire.

We are concerned that they might pass flu along to citizens, but we aren't concerned about the host of other diseases they bring in? I'd rather have flu than drug resistant TB.

Yes, he is, and I voted for him twice. And yes, this is the greatest country in the world, but if you don't mind some of us would prefer it stay that way, even if it means disagreeing with Bush on this issue. We have dedicated and committed soldiers fighting for and dying in Iraq, yet we stand to lose the WOT in our own back yards because our borders remain intentionally, yes intentionally, unsecured.
