Whenever I think of him, I can't get past the fact that he's fat and greasy looking. Does that make me shallow?

Oh, and the fact that he's on record as covering for Clinton by getting Monica a job, and of course lying about it.

He has not one redeeming quality going for him, IMO.

And he thinks he's qualified for this job...how?

Richardson would do well to remember that there is no honor among theives.

Or lying traitors.

They all deserve one another and may they end up tearing each other apart.

Poor Jim Watt. The Republicans would not stand up for him either! Remember Nancy pulled the plug on him.

He's a con artist. As Secretary of Energy, Richardson let them empty the store.......... but maybe that's just part of the plan, eh?

Is that a draft I feel coming on?

Governor Bill Richardson is coming clean on his draft record -- the baseball draft, that is, admitting that his claim to have been a pick of the Kansas City A's in 1966 was untrue.

Crap. The Dems now have a serious horse in the running. Hillary can win the Dem nomination, but Richardson has a great chance at winning the Whitehouse in my opinion.

He is very popular in New Mexico, he has Washington experience, and he has been a sitting Governor.

Richardson is a strong candidate, he isn't a Gore or Kerry.

"Hillary will take Obama as her V.P., IMO."

Looking at the RINO's who are running, tragically, it is Hillary and Obama's to lose!!

Are the Republicans playing some sort of sick dangerous game of "Rope a Dope" ?????? They seem to be willing to let the country slide as we did during the Carter years---
(removes tinfoil from head). I simply cannot explain the behavior of our side---since 2004.

It's a silly bill designed entirely for grandstanding. It sets impossible standards (immigration won't affect school population, etc.) and then puts an incredibly low cap on total immigration.

I don't know what year you'd have to go back to match that. Probably the early 1800s.

I object to filing frivolous bills. That's not why we pay our congressmen.

I agree. I think he could stand an excellent chance of winning. And I think he could pull votes from Republicans given who I see as Republican hopefuls this time around.

I think that a Bayh/Richardson or vice versa could be a dangerous ticket for Republicans.

Not to worry...Wilson's new career won't last long:

Richardson is a rotten negotiator. One needs only look back to five years ago when he created a situation that caused the deaths of many Americans. In 1998, with Rick Inderfurth of the State Department, he convinced the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance in Afghanistan to sign a ceasefire promoted by the anti-American Pakistani Gen. Hamid Gul. It lasted only long enough for Gen. Gul to re-supply his Taliban friends. With Osama bin Laden's thugs as the vanguard, the Taliban all but destroyed the Northern Alliance. Richardson claims that at the time he believed the drug-dealing, fanatically anti-Western Taliban would bring stability to the region and facilitate — you've got it — oil pipelines.

Bill Richardson's eclectic resume

A Partial List of Scandals of Bill Richardson:

•“Gov. Bill Richardson’s Administration Bought 12 Acres Of Vacant Santa Fe Land From A Major Campaign Contributor And His Family, Paying $3.2 Million More Than The Family Had Paid For The Prop- erty 28 Months Before.” (“Richardson Donor Sold 12 Acres To Ad- ministration,” The Associated Press, 6/19/06)

•“Contractor Sonny Otero Then Made A $50,000 Donation To Richardson’s Re-Election Campaign About Two Months After The Sale Was Finalized …” (“Richardson Donor Sold 12 Acres To Ad- ministration,” The Associated Press, 6/19/06)

•“Several Of Richardson’s Largest Campaign Donors Have Contracts Or Other Business With His Administration. The Governor Has Said He Makes Decisions Based On What Is Best For The State, Not For His Contributors.” (“Richardson Donor Sold 12 Acres To Administra- tion,” The Associated Press, 6/19/06)

•Richardson Falsely Claimed To Have Been Drafted By The Kansas City A’s. “The Albuquerque Journal reported last month that it had found no record of Richardson being drafted by the Kansas City Ath- letics in the 1960s as Richardson had claimed in a biography when he ran for Congress in 1982. The governor acknowledged the error.” (Barry Massey, “GOP Airs Ad Criticizing Governor As ‘King Bill,’” The Associated Press, 12/6/05)

•“A Connecticut-Based Tobacco Company That Lobbied The New Mexico Legislature This Year For Tax Changes Provided Gov. Bill Richardson With Tens Of Thousands Of Dollars Worth Of Free Jet Airplane Flights, An Albuquerque Journal Review Of Democratic Governors Association Records Showed.” (“Tobacco Company Pro- vides Travel To Richardson,” The Associated Press, 5/15/06)

•“One Day After Saying Congress Should ‘Stop Partisan Posturing’ On The Immigration Reform Bill, Gov. Bill Richardson Advised The Senate Democratic Leader To Hold Up A Bipartisan Compromise On The Bill.” (James W. Brosnan, “Governor Objected To Deal On Re- form,” The Albuquerque Tribune, 4/19/06)

•“Advance America Contributed $2,018 In Travel To The DGA On Nov. 13, The Group’s Records Show. Richardson Was In San Diego, Los Angeles And Palm Desert, Calif., That Weekend To Attend Two Concerts And Raise Money For His Re-Election Campaign.” (“Payday Loan Company Makes Travel Donations To Group Chaired By Richardson,” The Associated Press, 4/2/06)
